Friday Linkups + An Announcement

Well, this week flew by! A perk of taking a Monday off and having a few spring like days to make the days more enjoyable!
This weekend we've got the best plans... a low key weekend at home with lots of sunshine!

Announcement at the bottom of the post. Let's get right to it...

Linking up today with April, Karli, Amanda and Andrea

{O N E} Farm Days
We took a quick little weekend trip Saturday - Monday up to Derek's family's farm near
Syracuse, NY.  We've got a busy summer coming up so we thought spring was the perfect time for a visit and we're happy to get it in before the craziness.  We weren't sure how the weather would be (since there's still some snow on the ground up there) but we completely lucked out - Sunday was in the 60's and the sun was brightly shining.

We introduced Stella to all the farm animals, his grandma and aunt had a huge delicious dinner waiting for us when we arrived Saturday, relaxed, lots of watching the Maters - how cute is that Jordan Spieth?!, sat out on the deck, enjoyed visiting and soaking up the beautiful weather!
First thing in the morning is my favorite time up there, with no make up of course.

{T W O} An Accidental Rush Ordered Wedding Album
Once the wedding was over, I was over with wedding tasks.  I didn't get around to contacting our photographer to set up our wedding album until January, didn't set an appointment until February and didn't actually order it until March.  They told me the album would be ready in about 6-7 months which I expected.  You can imagine my surprise two weeks later when they said my album AND my mom's albums were ready.  I was sure they made a mistake but no, they accidentally rush ordered our album.  What a nice surprise! I mean our wedding video that they've been working on SINCE the wedding isn't even in yet (hopefully this month).  Anyways, I love the album and have the best time flipping through it.  Repeatedly.

{T H R E E} Spring Has Finally Sprung
Finally finally finally spring has hit here in PA.  Finally wearing spring clothes, finally enjoying driving with the windows down, finally enjoying lunch break walks, finally enjoying family dinners... soon hopefully on the deck.
Stella with Mom and I for a walk during lunch & Stella and Nash waiting for their dinner before family dinner on Tuesday.  Nothing like going home for Mom's cooking and family time.

{F O U R} Baseball is Back
We had our first Phillies game of the season last week.  It was for sure NOT spring like on the day of our game (we have four tickets so we rotate who goes - this game it was my parents and us and my brother skipped out).  No worries, my parents have season tickets and we will have plenty more shots of warm nights at the ballpark this season... even if the Phillies aren't very good.  The Phillies and Mets also had their first matchup of the season this week which is always interesting since Derek is a Mets fan... he made sure to remind me of the score.  Each night.

{F I V E}: Beach Reads
Vacation is coming up and I'm looking for some easy, mindless beach reads
Any suggestions?? GO!

Last but not least, the announcement!!
Sorry, it's nothing too big or exciting :)

There was such a good reaction to my owning it post on Monday that I wanted everyone to join in on the fun - join me the last Thursday of April (April 30) and possibly the last Thursday of future months to come and own it.  Own anything, big or little.
Share that "little thing you do"
Have a confession session
Things from the past week/month or just in general
Just be you.
If you missed my post, click: here.  To kickoff the fun, I've got three of my favorite girls sharing their owning it posts later next week while I'm away!

Enjoy your weekends and the beautiful weather!

  3. I STILL haven't done my wedding album yet! I am impressed! I still do look at my pictures a lot, though :) Our weather here in Alabama has been wonderful! It's been rainy this week, but before that some days hit in the mid-80s which kind of makes me think we have a hot summer coming. Have a great weekend!!!

  23. Syracuse, NY, that is my hometown. Born and raised there. Moved away to the south 16 years ago. Still have family up there. Everytime I see another New Yorker I get a smile. My hubs is a true METS fan. He is loyal to the end even when they have their worst seasons. Linking from Five on Friday
