Thanksgiving 2021

We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving last week.  The best part was having Teddy with us as his first one - enjoying sweet potatoes, mac n cheese and did not like the cranberry sauce.  We hosted both families and had the best time but also enjoyed plenty of relaxing... 

This & That: Thanksgiving Prep

Last week was a busy one preparing for Thanksgiving then enjoying the holiday and the weekend.  Today has been nice catching up on things.  Tatum only had one day of school last week for his class's Thanksgiving Party and brought home all the seasonal crafts that he'd been working on also.

We gathered food for one of our favorite charities...

Enjoyed some nice seasonal home cooked meals (loving soups right now) and started to slowly decorate some rooms for Christmas.

Last minute Thanksgiving Eve errands to get our turkey and other needed items and hurrying to get things ready to host both families.

We spent Thanksgiving Eve at my brother's house to help decorate his tree and enjoy a variety of soups ahead of the holiday.

Dallas

Derek and I took an adults only trip to Dallas for a long weekend at the start of the month. The kids come just about everywhere with us so it was nice to sit on the plane and relax without having to entertain everyone.  We stayed at The Ritz Carlton in uptown Dallas and it was late afternoon by the time we checked in on Friday so we had a cocktail and relaxed before going to one of our favorite spots, Nick and Sam's.

Saturday we spent most of the afternoon in Grapevine, about a half hour outside of Dallas. The cutest little old fashioned town - there were tons of Christmas holiday shops and ta bunch of winery tasting rooms to explore.  That night we went out to Javier's for some nice Texas Mexican food.

Sunday was all about the Cowboys game.  We headed over to the stadium early, enjoyed hanging out in the plaza, had fun at the game even with the loss then hung out at the post party for a little bit after because it was so nice out.  We knew we would be tired and want to relax so we just went to the lounge for appetizers, got room service and went to bed early.

Monday was our final day and we had little plans.  We enjoyed sleeping in, going over to Highland Park for mMexican at Mi Cocina and some shopping, a little pool time since it was mid 70's and time at the spa.  We went to Nobu Dallas for our last dinner and called it quits early.  Tuesday morning we were ready to head to the airport early and get back to the boys.

This & That

We spent our final weekend of the season up at Penn State last weekend.  Despite the turn this season took and the loss we had a fun weekend with lots of family.

We celebrated Derek's birthday... 

Now that Teddy is a little bit more of an active baby, the boys both really love to play with each other, its such fun to watch.

Palm Beach Snapshots

Back at the start of October we spent a week back at one of our favorite spots, The Breakers in Palm Beach for a little fall break.  We went with some friends so the boys enjoyed playing with friends.  We enjoyed relaxing by the pool, golf, massages and taking it easy.  We ventured out a little bit to places like Worth Avenue and Pizza al Fresco, a boat cruise around the area.  Like always Tatum loved going to the arcade and playground as well as the  daily kids events.  Every single meal we had was delicious as usual.
