Father's Day & Other Happenings

We've been having a great start to summer - playing outside, doing summer workbooks, tennis and all the sports, etc.

Tatum finished up baseball and basket ball for the season and is now into his summer sports - Teddy is always smiling and tagging along - getting into any trouble he can.

We had our first lake weekend of the season and it wasn't swimming in the water weather but the weather was so nice and we had a very relaxing weekend.

Last but very not least - we celebrated our favorite guy on Father's Day with golf watching, playing and chicken parm and an ice cream cake dessert..

Nantucket: Part Three

Our last day in Nantucket - we woke up to rain, which anywhere else would have been annoying but in Nantucket it was cozy.

We had a slow, relaxing morning and by about 11am it stopped and was just damp so Derek, the boys and I walked to The Chalie Noble for lunch and met up with my family after for shopping and some time in Nantucket Bookworks.

Once we were done in town it actually cleared up a little bit and the sun popped out so my mom, brother and I took Tatum over to Children's Beach to play for a while while the others napped.

Similar to the other nights, we went to the lawn for happy hour and to play, walked to dinner in town and then finished the night off at The Juice Bar.

Our last morning we were up early for the first ferry out.  We lucked out as there was heavy rain overnight but we were dry boarding/de-boarding in Hyannis - we had a great time and look forward to future trips!

Nantucket: Part Two

Tuesday morning was another beautiful day.  A low key morning with playing then off to the playground and going a different direction shopping on Main Street.

Next up was an outing to a favorite spot - Cisco Brewery.  We all jumped in an uber and went for cocktails and tried an assortment of foods from all of the four food trucks as well as the raw bar - everyone enjoyed it too and the boys ran all over the place.

We took a little break at the cottage and then walked down to Brandt Point Lighthouse and beach.  It's a tiny beach but one of my favorite because the water is really shallow for the kids, the lighthouse is right there and you can watch the boats come and go.

It was back to the cottage for the most relaxing part of the day - the boys naps and everyone else relaxed.  I went out to the sofa on the lawn to read and had a nice nap.  Then it was back to the main lawn for playing and we were eating dinner right on property tonight at The Brandt Point Grill.

Nantucket

We spent our first real week of summer in Nantucket last week.  Our family came with us as a special birthday gift to my mom from her most recent birthday last February - we had great time.  We left about 6:30 on Sunday and got to Hyannis around 12:30 in time to load our bags, have lunch and have plenty of time for our 2:25 ferry.

Since we were up early we decided to cancel dinner, take our time settling into our cottage and play with the boys on our lawn.  We walked into town for an easy pizza dinner and ice cream at The Juice Bar.

Monday we were up refreshed and ready to go.  We did a little bit of strolling and shopping downtown before our morning "ice cream" boat cruise.  An hour cruise around the wharf and each boy got to steer the boat and we all got ice cream.

We got changed into beach gear and headed over to Jetties Beach for lunch at The Sandbar then a nice afternoon of playing in the sand.  Our weather was upper 60's and sunny so it felt great.

After some naps and quiet time we went over to the White Elephant's main lawn for happy hour and playing then walked to The Lobster Trap for dinner outside.

Since this was a birthday trip, we had cake to celebrate Lovie back at the cottage after dinner - the boys were excited about the surprise.
