Shore Scenes

We had another wonderful week back down in Avalon the week of Fourth of July.  The weather was perfect each day.  We swam, played on the beach, ate our favorite meals and enjoyed family and friend time.

Tatum got his very first boogie board which has been such a hit.  Teddy did great and couldn't wait to get his fingers and toes into the sand.

This & That: Summer Snapshots

Summer has been flying by - the boys are both at such fun ages - Tatum is old enough to start to do activities and Teddy is at such a fun baby phase.  We spend a few days a week at the pool and Tatum has a lesson once a week which he loves.

Lots of firsts recently too - Tatum had his first tennis lesson last week and he absolutely loves it!  We've played with his racket every day since.  He also got his first big boy bike with training wheels and wakes up asking to ride it.

As far as Teddy's firsts, he just recently tried baby food (cereal) for the first time and loved it - he also loved holding the spoon.  He loves to army crawl his way to any toy he wants and is such a busy body!

We've been doing all the summer basics - sleeping in, doing s'mores and marshmallows, playing outside even though it's been in the 90's most days recently and staying up late (sometimes)!

Theodore: Six Months

Six Months!  I can't believe it's been half a year since our little Teddy joined our family.  He is at such a fun age - is always smiling, drooling up a storm, slowly working on his army crawl and can move himself all over the place.  A couple days after six months we tried baby cereal for the first time and unlike his brother - he loved it!  Looking forward to seeing his other baby food likes.  He sleeps 11-12 hours at night and tends to still let himself get over tired sometimes.

Trips to Nantucket, Avalon and the lake house were all on his agenda this month and he continues to just go with the flow following big brother around to his activities.  Speaking of big brother, he loves to hold Teddy standing up, lay next to him in bed and jump into his playpen to play.

Lake Scenes

It's been a busy summer so far and we've had a few nice visits up to the lake.  Tatum really enjoys it this year more than ever and we've all enjoyed our new jet ski's on the water as well as the family time.

We spent Father's Day up there as well as a few other weekend and look forward to some more longer weekend stays throughout the summer...

Fourth of July

We had a nice quiet 4th of July at home.  We spent the afternoon at the pool playing and then had a fun family barbecue at home and watched fireworks outside.

We setup some water games and pools in the yard, grilled a traditional barbecue and finished off with personalized strawberry shortcakes.  The weather was fantastic to enjoy the holiday.  The next morning to continue things we went to our local 4th of July Parade, which I think will be a new tradition for us.

Nantucket 2021: Part Two

For the second part of our day with our rental jeep we headed over to Bartlett's Farm and then right around the corner to Cisco Brewery.  This was probably the best part of our trip - We not only could sample beer, wine and mixed cocktails but there were a bunch of food trucks from around the island (including some of our favorites from before) that we could enjoy all at once - Lobster Trap, Millie's, Wood Fired Pizzas and a fresh raw bar - everything was so good - as well as live music.

Once back at the hotel we walked across to the Children's Beach playground for a while to play and just sit and relax.  For the second time this trip we decided to cancel our dinner plans and just enjoy playing outside and grab pizza to take back to our cottage.

Our last full day we boarded the Critter Cruise, something Tatum and waited for the whole trip - it's very kid friendly and they catch a bunch of small sea animals for the kids to touch then everyone gets to go fishing - it was a blast for all of us.

We went over the Sandbar at Jettie's Beach for lunch and then spent the rest of the afternoon at Jettie's Beach with a walk over to the pretty Steps Beach as well.  We did a final early dinner at Queequeg's then ice cream at the Juice Bar to finish out our week away.  It was a great family trip and we all already want to go back!
