This & That

With a newborn at home and nowhere to go as well as a toddler (and a dog) that love playing in the snow, we've been loving snow days this year more than any year before...

I couldn't love more watching Tatum be a big brother and the sibling love start from the beginning - it's the sweetest thing to see...

Our sweet Teddy Bear turned one month recently and because of Covid only one parent was allowed in but he did fantastic and continues to melt our hearts...

This is one of our coldest winters yet and with many days of school cancelled, snow days at home, etc. we've been embracing the season and enjoying ALL of the playing activities...

One Month Favorites

Teddy was such a sweetheart during the first month - the newborn stage really is so precious.  Many of his favorite items were similar to Tatum's but somethings differed.  Just like his brother, the dock a tot is probably our most used item!  Zip sleepers continue to be a favorite and he's not a huge pacifier fan but does like them sometimes and prefers the phillips avent kind.  He likes being cuddled in a swaddle during the day (it is winter after all!) and new to us is the baby shusher!

Theodore: One Month

I can't believe our little man was one month old on Valentine's Day!  Whoever said the days are long but the years are short I totally don't agree with - the days may be exhausting, but somehow they fly by!

He had his one month appointment yesterday, weighed in right at 10 pounds and is doing great.  A few days before the one month mark we switched over into 0-3 clothes (even though some are a little bit long since Teddy is short) and are officially into size 1 diapers.  Now that we've reached the month milestone we're working on getting on a little bit of a schedule but still going by Teddy's lead.

He is a great eater and loves food!  He's up to about 3.5 ounces (give or take depending the time of day) per feeding.  He is a fantastic overnight sleeper - usually reaching a 5-6 hour stretch but needs to work on naps a little bit - he's so alert at certain points during the day.

His likes are being held upright to look around, laying on your stomach to cuddle, the shusher, stretching out and kicking (preferably not in his clothes), looking at lights.  He doesn't mind baths after he lets out a few initial cries and feels similar about his car seat - he hates getting into it but doesn't usually mind it once he's in.  His dislikes include being hungry, overtired (trying to work on!) and having a wet diaper even if it's not full!

Valentine's Day

We had the most low key Valentine's Day and it was great - since having kids it makes the holiday even more fun - putting the focus on them and giving little treats.  We did breakfast casserole and made waffles for breakfast, all took naps and Derek and I made steak and lobster for dinner followed by popcorn, movie and candy when Tatum was done his dinner on the couch.

It was our little Teddy's first holiday and I'm even more excited now for the rest of the firsts this year ahead...

Valentine's Day Prep

We decided to leave one of our fake Christmas trees up this year and turn it into a Valentine's Day tree - I've loved having it up to enjoy a little bit longer!  Tatum got a few treats for the month on February 1st to enjoy and books to read.

We've done slice and bake cookies and hopefully this weekend we'll get to some actual cookies and decorating.

Valentine's day crafting and Teddy's first time to be a part of it!  I found some Valentine's Day learning printable on Etsy that Tatum has been working on too.

The boys had a cute Valentine's Day party with some of their friends - Tatum proudly picked Spiderman valentines to give out.

I had a Galentine's night with girlfriends - appetizers, drinks, dessert and a pollyanna gift exchange with something you've ordered from Amazon and loved.

Getting together Valentine's for the party and for school.  Tatum did golf valentine's for school and Teddy did Teddy bears to hand out to friends.  Tatum had the best time sorting through his bag when he got home from school yesterday.

This & That

Baby's first monogram is definitely a milestone for us - and matching with brother too...

We've been trying to do some special things with just Tatum or for Tatum since Teddy arrived so last week we did indoor mini golfing while my parents watched Teddy quickly.

Speaking of golf, we got a new treat - a golf cart! Tatum and Derek are both in heaven and I love having it too - can't wait for it to warm up a little bit to better enjoy it.

We celebrated our favorite lady's birthday, Lovie.  Lots of delicious take out pasta, cake and good family time together.

It's been very cold lately so that means lots of indoor activities and family time by the fireplace cuddling with the kids.

We tried out play doh for the first time and it was a big hit.  Puzzles continue to be one of Tatum's favorites and a new favorite is Blippy - he loves watching the shows endlessly.

Sleep stalking the boys will never get old to me - especially when they're both asleep together!
