Scenes from Christmas Break

We had a nice lazy day after Christmas - playing, cleaning up a little and the four of us went out for a little fun family lunch.

Later that day we celebrated Christmas with Derek's parents, went to look at Christmas lights and out to dinner and enjoyed family time.  The next morning we had brunch with both families.

There is a pop-up outdoor skating rink close by and Tatum was dying to go so Teddy and I watched while he and Derek had a blast on the ice.

We hosted a small party on New Year's Eve for friends.  A balloon drop for the kids, chocolate milk martinis and all sorts of fun - everyone made it to midnight except little Teddy.

Lastly we enjoyed the final lazy days of Christmas break...

Christmas 2021

We had such a wonderful Christmas this year as it was Teddy's first one!  He loved bopping around looking at things and playing with the wrapping paper.  Tatum is at the best age and was so excited this year - he loved every single thing.

We had a wonderful morning at home the 4 of us opening presents, playing and enjoying time around the tree.

Late morning we went over to my parents house for Christmas round two - opening presents, playing and having a delicious brunch.

We took a nice afternoon break for resting, naps and movies and then had family over for our usual Christmas dinner and of course... more playing!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was a wonderful day this year like always.  Things were pretty busy up until today - the 23rd we were still wrapping, baking and finishing things up and had our annual Christmas Eve Eve dinner as well with family.

Christmas Eve we did our usual Christmas Eve breakfast but instead of homemade cinnamon rolls took the easy way out and did store bought cinnamon rolls.  Tatum was also ecstatic because he was able to touch the elf today.  They played, watched a movie together and he took him all over the house with him.

Next up was my favorite part of Christmas Eve - delivering treats to neighbors! Last year Tatum dressed up as Santa so this year we dressed Teddy up too.  We set out on the golf cart listening to Christmas music and had a great time.  The rest of the day was Christmas movies, cooking for the next day and relaxing.

We went to the early kids church service which was so nice since we couldn't go in person last year.  Then off to our Italian annual Christmas Eve dinner in town.

Then it was home to get ready for Santa to come!  Pajamas on, reindeer food out, the night before Christmas, cookies for Santa then a movie to fall asleep!

This & That: Christmas Prep

How busy the past few weeks have been!  As much as I love the holidays, January has been a refreshing slow down with time to catch up, relax and enjoy family time.  While he was a lot of work, I think we all miss Bernard a little bit.

The week before Christmas Derek and I had one of my favorite date nights of the year - dinner and drinks in the city and seeing The Nutcracker.

We had a low key day (all that I wanted!) celebrating my birthday just five days before Christmas...

We took the boys to a local theater to see Rudolph and then go out to lunch with family two days before Christmas Eve... then one of our last Christmas pajamas nights.

Miscellaneous winter scenes and memories...

And last but not least, our family Christmas card for this year...
