Is it possible for a weekend to be busy yet low-key at the same time?
This weekend was much needed to catch up after vacation and a busy week.
We were busy both days so decided to do things at home both nights - I think that might happen more often!
The weather was also gorgeous…
but first can I just talk for a second how cute the Royal family is??? Following this mayhem really sucked me in this weekend.
Saturday afternoon brought lots of catch up, walks outside, a golf tournament for Derek and my brother/my cousin's first communion party and some great family time for me followed by the Derby, party of two…
We set up our patio furniture on Friday also so I enjoyed a sunset, some magazines, pinterest and country music as well as a cocktail out on the deck
Sunday brought another catch up morning, lots of DVR, gorgeous weather and my friend Nina and I heading off celebrating our favorite mama to be and her sweet baby girl coming soon!
Headed off to celebrate our girls and the cutest favor ever!
We rounded out the weekend with a nice little family BBQ and used the grill for the fist time. No better group to be with than family to cap off a beautiful weekend.

Ever since cocktail hour in Bermuda, I've been extra into cheese plates - I've been waiting all week to enjoy one!
She learns from the big dog how to watch over the food
Some pups that tire each other out
Just one little happy family
The first time firing up the grill was a success!
Since it was the first grill we went simple with hamburgers, hot dogs and sausages with all the toppings. We threw in some old favorites like broccoli salad and watermelon and tested out tortellini skewers and chesson's zucchini chip recipe. I got to incorporate my favorite side a "bar" of any sorts - last night it was a potato bar. The bonus is Derek and I now have dinner for tonight and tomorrow night.
I made mom's recipe of blondes for dessert which there was almost no room left but we all squeezed one in.
The perfect combo of fun and busy and it was nice to hit the refresh button - finally, after such a hectic week! Looking forward to a much lower key week this week with not much to do after work each night!
