{Day Three}
When we are away - even if it's an island, I have to sightsee a little bit. I can't just sit on the beach and do nothing all day and Derek's pretty much the same way.
Saturday brought us for a little sightseeing around the island including Elbow Beach, the Botanical Gardens, Rosewood Tucker's Point and more.
All the beaches have a little bit of a different look - Elbow Beach below…
All the flowers in Bermuda were so bright and vivid. Botanical Gardens below.
We got dropped off in the town of Hamilton after our sightseeing and we liked it just as much as we did when we went for dinner.
This little park was one of my favorite spots - every direction you looked was beautiful.
The yellow building is the one we went into to get out to the outdoor British bar that I originally thought was an ice cream shop.
Derek spotted the bright colors to this boutique and I'm so glad he did - I walked out with two dresses and their displays were so cute.
We did lunch in town at the Bermuda Bistro before heading back over to the part of the island where our hotel was.
It was another beautiful day for lounging by the pool, naps, hot tubbing, snacking, etc.
We were suppose to go on a boat cruise this night but because of the high winds it got cancelled. Our favorite restaurant at the hotel, The Waterlot Inn was completely booked but since we had been friendly and chatting with the staff when we were in before they squeezed us in for a late meal. We were happy campers!
We of course headed back to the dock. Again. Since our dinner wasn't until later we ended up going back up to one of the other bars inside the main hotel then shuttled back down for dinner. On the way home the shuttle driver had found some baby chicks in the middle of the road and saved them - he made the cutest little home for them in the cup holder until he could get them safe.
We got the same delicious sides (one of the top five best mac and cheeses we've had) and close to the same meal and it was just as delicious as the time before!
{Day Four}
We got a nice litte sleep in session (extra than the other days) today and woke up to the ocean sounds - it was so windy you could hear it so easily - pretty peaceful.
We set out to walk to Gibbs Lighthouse - about a 15 minute walk from the hotel
Again, being higher up - we had some great views of the island.
Up we went
I think I really could be on board with a brightly colored house
Inside the lighthouse wasn't super glamorous but there was a spot to stop on each level to peek out the windows for great views - We could have gone out on the top but it was crazy windy even on the ground so all the way up high might not have been the best pick.
Then we found this little gem - the queen's lookout spot!
The path to get there was really pretty as well with perfect photo spots along the way.
We made it back just before the couple hour storm hit and it gave us the change to enjoy our living room a bit, have a mid day cocktail, FaceTime with some friends, read and relax.
We also checked out the lounge - how cute is the fireplace
When we saw the forecast for the day we quickly switched our spa appointments from the next day today so we could use the indoor pool and spa area. We did room service for lunch then headed down and we got there just as the sky was clearing so we scooped up to of the outside loungers with a fabulous view - after a quick nap outside, we woke up to sunshine. It turned out to be a great day - we each got a massage then went back to enjoy the outdoor area - we didn't leave until just before the sunset.
The concierge had heard us talking about how we were married the past fall so she sent some champagne for us. Very sweet of her.
Since we stayed at the spa so long we decided to just stay at the hotel and restaurant hop then do drinks after.
Appetizers at one place, dinner at the next
Finishing with drinks on this comfy couch - note the wallpaper in the background - you just can't escape the beautiful brightness.
{Day Five}
Our trip was quickly coming to a close but it had been fantastic so it was okay. I snuck out on the balcony to soak up some last minutes on the lounger out there.
I don't really mind flying - sometimes its nice for a couple peaceful minutes and I never read the tabloid magazines anymore so I always look forward to those when traveling

We wanted to head back down to the beach one more time so we did a little while down there before heading up to the pool. We had to get a few final beach photos in.
We headed up for some pool time and then lunch at the poolside restaurant before getting packed up to leave
Any occasion is okay for champagne and the Bermuda airport is tiny with nothing to do so we enjoyed a beverage before boardingI don't really mind flying - sometimes its nice for a couple peaceful minutes and I never read the tabloid magazines anymore so I always look forward to those when traveling
