New York City Weekend

Derek & I decided to celebrate my birthday in New York City this year.  Partly because we went to Dallas for his birthday weekend and wanted to do something fun for mine and partly because his work Christmas party was on my birthday.

Thursday 12/19/13
I took the train up to NYC in the afternoon, with about a million other people.  We stayed at the Intercontinental Barclay so I took a taxi over there and waited for Derek to get off work.  Dinner wasn't until 8:30 so we decided to venture over to "the tree" before it got too crowded.

We went to my FAVORITE restaurant in New York, Red Eye Grill.  I had my favorite Lobster Mac & Cheese for dinner.
After dinner we finished the night back at our hotel bar.  Even though I was tired Derek forced me to stay up until midnight to officially toast my birthday.

Friday 12/20/13
We woke up pretty early to get out adventuring and officially start my birthday celebrations -- I was finally 25!!

Divo had to stop for a latte before we could do anything
We headed over to Bryant Park to see the decorations there and shop in the little shops there.  We picked up some ornaments for our future tree.
We had lunch at Bill's, another one of our favorites, before going to see the Rockettes.  We both LOVED it!
It even snowed right on us at the end!
We found one of my best friends/bridesmaids at the tree after the show
We headed back to the hotel to take a break before the Christmas Party.  Derek went before me because he was on the party committee and by the time I got downstairs it was nearly impossible to get a taxi.  After a small hissy fit, my "knight in shining armor" took the Carlyle hotel car back to our car to get me.  We had a great time at the party.
Derek stole the show in the 70's choreographed dance that was a special surprise.

On Saturday we did a little shopping then got out of the very crowded city.
