Weekend Scenes

We kicked off the weekend with a small gathering of friends for a Rudolph float to swing by for the kids to visit from a distance, sing/dance/do bubbles, get stickers, etc.  Tatum was quite scared of Rudolph then proudly talked the rest of the night how he was scared of Rudolph.

Saturday morning we were treated to a lazy morning and some sleeping in.  Bernard dropped off Gingerbread House and Gingerbread Cookie supplies to have fun with over the weekend.

We went to a local farm for a socially distant visit with Santa - wanted to make sure to have a memory of how things are different this year.  There was a little phone you could talk through to Santa and Tatum bravely told him a few things he wanted.

Sunday morning started off with a very nice sweet treat - Bernard was eating donuts and sent Tatum out to find some delivered for him on our porch.

After naps and such we went to the zoo to walk around for zoo lights - combination of Christmas lights and animals was a hit.

To finish out the weekend we finally got around to making the gingerbread house and cookies - We all enjoyed it together and Tatum kept saying "look at me, I'm cooking" while having fun using his cooking/baking gear.

Thanksgiving 2020

Like many our holiday was quite and low key this year but enjoyable and blessed as well.  We had a nice quiet morning getting things ready, watching the parade with breakfast on the couch.

I was a little behind going into the day so we spent much of the morning in the kitchen prepping our sides, baking for dessert that didn't get done earlier in the week and getting the turkey into the oven.

My parents and brother came over for appetizers, dinner, dessert and a full day of family time.  After a rainy morning it was really nice out so Tatum was thrilled to play outside.

A new tradition this year was some Christmas Bingo after dinner - it was fun for everyone and prizes for all.  I've been waiting almost a year to start this tradition with Tatum and it didn't disappoint.

Halloween Eve: This & That

Even though many things are cancelled or different this year, we've been trying to fit in what Halloween fun we can.  I can't believe it's tomorrow - Tatum is very ready to "trick or treat."  Our annual chili night and Hayride to the Witches House was a success earlier this month.

I like to make up little candy bags each year anyway but this year our neighborhood agreed this way would be safest with a table setup in driveway so I had fun putting our bags together during the Bachelorette the other night.

Halloween movie night (is most nights) but with popcorn, cookies and Mommy/Daddy on the couch was a special treat.

Halloween baking - Tatum did most of the cookie cutting and decorating himself this year which made it more fun (and easier for us ha!)  Looking forward to Christmas cookie baking with him already.

Last but not least - Tatum is finally off to in person preschool next week as his school is finally opening back up.  A little Halloween party to celebrate the end of pod learning.

Fourth of July

We had a great Fourth of July weekend - it was nice to finally have some things to do - Friday night we went to our country club's 4th of July party for swimming, bbq-ing and fireworks.

Saturday morning we headed right up to the lake and enjoyed a perfect day on the water.  Tatum is such a little fish and swam all day taking just a quick nap break than back into the water for more swimming and jumping off the dock.

We did classic burgers, dogs and sides for dinner and then watched some more fireworks being shot off over the lake.

Father's Day

We had another nice weekend at home - our last one with no plans and home for a while so it was nice to take it easy - Friday night pizza night, lots of time outside in the sun and we had a great time celebrating Father's Day.

Derek wanted to golf so Tatum and I spent the day at the pool then he met us afterwards for a while to swim - it was a great summer day.

That evening my family came over to BBQ and celebrate with meats, lobster and many other delicious items to enjoy.

Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day Weekend was super low key for us - which it usually is before the busy of summer weekends away start.  Friday and Saturday were rainy and very quiet - luckily it cleared up Saturday afternoon and we had a little happy hour outside with friends.

Sunday morning we've gotten into the routine of Sunday Breakfast which everyone enjoys and Tatum loves helping.

We spent a lot of time this weekend getting our flowers planted - we're usually traveling so we can't get them done until late June so this was a nice treat this year.  We also spent a ton of time playing outside!

Sunday night we had a lobster broil and enjoyed spending time on the deck - everything was delicious and we'll definitely do it again soon!

Memorial Day was fairly chilly for the first part of the day but we were still able to play outside a bit and setup Tatum's new water wall - luckily after nap it was sunny and much warmer.

Early evening my family came over for drinks and appetizers... and to tire Tatum out - he was exhausted by the end of the night but still hanging in.

We had a classic summer BBQ of hamburgers, hot dogs and sides and one of our first meals on the deck for this season.
