It's already the second day in August - how did this summer go so fast?? It's hard to believe there's just one month left of summer - that means two more lake weekends until we switch gears into fall days, tailgates and baby!
Last Thursday evening we headed up to the lake and we didn't come home until Monday evening - it was our big/long stay of the season. With lots of people we had a variety of cooks and different dinners - pulled pork night, Italian night, Mexican night and the highlight was a big seafood broil on Saturday night with everyone.
After a few hours down by the fire watching the broil cook, everyone spent the rest of the night out on the porch enjoying the product which was quite the success.
The weather was overcast the first two days which brought much cooler temperatures than we're used to making for great porch time and time around the fire pit.
The second two days were nice and sunny - perfect for the dock, boat and jet ski. Stella always barks and wants to come in the water while we float yet won't do it on her own so we got her a little float and tried it out this time.
A full dock day was the perfect way to spend a Monday and start the week - hopefully will make the week go by quicker now!
