Tuesday brought a wine tour in Malibu - a wine safari actually. Last year we toured a few different wineries in the area and noticed our favorite one had a wine safari so we thought we'd try out something new and do it this time.
We rode in an open air truck and made a few stops though out the property feeding animals, seeing the scenery and then tasting wines. First up was llamas, zebra and water buffalos.
Next stop was the main attraction, feeding Stanley the giraffe. The tour guides were very generous and gave us each plenty of lettuce to feed him many times and you could get as close as you wanted.
Then it was time for the wine tasting - we tasted there whites and three reds, although they let me have extra white since I'm not a fan of red. For the whites we stopped in a gorgeous area that they use for a lot of filming and the deck of the lake house on the property (which you can rent out) to taste the reds.
After the tour we went to Saddlerock Ranch, just around the corner from the safari area, for a round of tasting since we enjoyed it so much during previous visits - it really does have the best setting.
This was our hottest day for sure - about 95 degrees so we were ready to cool off in the air conditioning and grabbed lunch in a little cafe at the Calabasas Commons before grabbing our stuff and switching over to Beverly Hills for the rest of our trip.
