Our California trip reviews are coming to an end - due to a change in plans on Friday our final two days were mainly pool days which we didn't mind at all - the weather was low 80's and great to be outside. Since Runyon Cannon was closed for repairs we did a long walk around the neighborhood near the hotel to start off our Friday.
We enjoyed lunch at the Polo Lounge at the hotel splitting a burger and our new favorite - the McCarthy Salad. The housewives fan in me was thrilled when Erika Jayne walked in to eat too.
The rest of the day was spent sunning, swimming and relaxing by the pool. We had a late afternoon snack at the Cabana Cafe and dined near both David Spade and Scott Disick while they enjoyed lunch... separately.
For dinner we tried a new to us restaurant, The Tower Bar, for a delicious meal complete with a make your own ice cream sundae bar for dessert.
For our last day we secured a late checkout so we slept in, packed up and enjoyed our patio before heading over to the main strips near Rodeo Drive for manicures/pedicures/neck massages at Beverly Hills Nail Design and a stop at Sprinkles/Sugarfina for treats for the plane. A donut breakfast is the perfect treat for a final morning so we stopped by the Beverly Wilshire for a final treat.
We spent our final afternoon enjoying the shaded deck by the pool for a few hours and sharing lunch at the Cabana Cafe.
We finished off the trip the same way we started in Newport Beach - with a meal at our favorite restaurant, Mastro's. This time we each opted for steaks and different sides/appetizers. We had an early reservation to ensure we'd have plenty of time to get to the airport but once we saw notifications that our flight was delayed we had time for a final drink at Bar Nineteen at the hotel to enjoy some final CA views.
We had a great time and this truly is one of our favorite vacation spots. We hope to head back sooner than later...
