We made it up to Westlake Village in pretty good time and headed right over to Malibu for lunch. Last year on our wine tour we noticed the Westlake Village Inn, a cute little boutique hotel, and thought it would be a perfect perch for us two enjoy two days in the area outside LA. It's situated on very pretty grounds and the rooms are all unique and spacious.
Another favorite from the year before was grabbing drinks at Nobu in Malibu so this year we decided to do lunch there too since it's such a gorgeous and perfect setting. We lucked out with a seat on the back patio right over the ocean and then ended with a drink in the lounge area outside. Since I'm not into sushi we split a bunch of plates including tuna/scallop chips, edamame, rock shrimp, tuna, lobster and ribeye mini tacos and some wagu sliders - all delicious but the tuna and scallop chips were our favorite.
We'd never taken the time to walk down the pier before so we spent a little bit of time doing that since this day and the following were the hottest of the trip it was nice to be near the ocean with that sea breeze.
Located next to the hotel was one of the wineries we'd visited in the past, Stonehaus, where you can get any kind of wine flight which is our favorite part. We snacked on a cheese board and enjoyed our time outside under the misters.
With a little bit of time to kill in the afternoon we wanted some downtime so we hit the pool and opted for some spur of the moment massages.
Our wrap around patio was my favorite part of the room so we spent some time sitting out there until heading over to Calabasas for a delicious Mexican meal.

ReplyDeleteWe love Malibu! I miss it so much! We will have to plan another trip out there soon. And I love that you don't like sushi... I've never understood the whole sushi craze. It doesn't do anything for me at all and it seems like I'm the only one in blogland who feels that way. Haha.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous spot that you stayed! I would've lived on that patio.
