Looks & Life Lately {10}

It's been a while for a little looks & life update.  Before Thanksgiving while.  We are right in the height of the holiday season and I couldn't be enjoying it more.  We are embracing this season but also embracing slowing down a bit and just "enjoying".

Last week, We met up with my parents and brother at the mall for a little holiday shopping and a little holiday eating.  Plus a late night trip to Target for the two of us - you have to love it when it's quiet.

When your mom's wine glass is empty, you share yours!

Some nights it's easier to just run around the corner and have someone else make you dinner while you enjoy a delicious beverage and a date night with your husband.

It's never too soon to start the festive dressing {top: similar style / scarf: look alike }

Making my family's famous "Christmas Cheer" drink recipe.  It's half alcoholic beverages, half juices and so so good.  We made ours just before Thanksgiving and it takes a couple weeks to sit so these batches will be ready for consumption this weekend! {We somehow only put in half the juice and had to fix it once we realized}.

How cute are these two buddies?! Love walking out of my office to find them taking a break together.

Cleaning day - how I love/hate at the same time.  We tidy up all the time but do a full/deep house clean about every 2-3 weeks and I love the feeling when it's done.  It takes two hours or so, so I really love when it's out of the way.

A surprise holiday bouquet to add some spirit to our kitchen which I'm still enjoying.  I love the touch of seasonal flowers.

Our annual "Tuesday before Thanksgiving" shopping trip was a hit like usual.  This was our ninth year doing it - we started when I was a freshman in college and home for Thanksgiving break.  It never disappoints.

The mall decorations never disappoint either.  Everywhere you look at King of Prussia there is a gorgeous, festive sight to see.

Hot pink and navy blue - one of my favorite fashion combos.  I keep most of my Penn State gear up at our State College house so this is usually a go to for local events like the hockey matchup in Philly.

When we got home from being away for Thanksgiving weekend, Derek surprised me with tickets to The Nutcracker - we're going next week! I'd been hinting that I wanted to do since I was in a local production a few years growing up.

This top is one of my favorite easy go-to's.  Comfy, cute and you can't beat leopard.

It took us a couple days (before and after Thanksgiving) to get the house decorated and the tree ornaments were last to go but we got it done.

ornaments: target, in store {I just found the glittery/gold merry, joy, noel, ornaments from our gold tree here}

It's never too early to start prepping for spring, right?! Lilly always has the cutest patterns in the winter that I know won't be there come spring.

The weekend after Thanksgiving our little Stella turned one! It's hard to believe at the end of January that we'll have had her a year - I almost can't remember life without her.  Anyway my family came over for pizza and I made a little doggie cake for her and Nash (recipe to come after the holidays) and we gave her some holiday toys to tear up during the holiday season.

Feeling fall {sweater - similar style / scarf - similar style, I might like this one better }

 Thanksgiving baking all over the kitchen.  Chocolate pretzels, snicker doodles, peanut butter cup cookies - we had baking supplies everywhere.

And just because what's a looks & life without Stella - playing with her larder than her toy puppy, enjoying her first cheeseburger during a road trip and always the last one to get up in the morning.

**The winner of the Lilly Pulitzer Giveaway is Owen Davis!  Congratulations, Owen and a big thank you to everyone that entered.**
