This & That: Long Weekend Scenes

The long weekend came at the perfect time - we've been so busy lately, a little time to relax was perfect! We aren't always home for the holiday weekend so it was nice to do some things around here, sleep in each day, etc. 

'Tis the season for grilling - we really wanted to enjoy one more grilling session on our deck so a shrimp broil (prepared from Wegman's!) seemed like a perfect fit.

I kicked things off on Friday by heading out for a day of shopping with my mom - lately shopping's revolved around the house or the baby so it was fun to just hit the sales for ourselves.

I love this dress because it'll fit for most of this summer then again in the future (so comfortable and a great price!).  This coverup I was able to just get my regular size and one of the sales girls recommended this style dress because it's great for a growing bump but also can be worn again next year.

We got some of the big rooms packed up like the kitchen and our bedroom/bathroom and poor Stella is confused as could be.  A quick nap after each session was needed.

The weather ended up being nicer than expected so our first patio meal (Mexican!) was the perfect way to spend a night with family.  A virgin margarita too.

I wouldn't say I've had too many cravings but I've definitely been more interested in donuts than usual.  We made our first ever trip to Krispy Kreme and my goodness we will be back! 

Something I wanted to do this summer was go strawberry picking so while we had an open afternoon we figured it would be a good time to do it!

This & That

Happy Monday! We had the most relaxing weekend - I knew Saturday was a good day when I changed from my pajamas to gym clothes back to pajamas.  This was our first "no plan" weekend in a while and while Derek placed second in a golf tournament I got a jump start on the packing - slow and steady is my plan.

Tis' the season for flowers - Wegman's always has the best arrangements and bouquets.  These four have been going strong for over a week and counting now.

We had a few eat outside like days and took full advantage - hoping that weather comes back soon!

Life Lately

Fresh blooms for spring - I love having flowers around the house this time of the year.

With the weather warming up we've been getting onto some new trails and a new neighborhood dog park with Stella most days.

Looks & Life Lately

Last week for a couple days the weather slowly climbed into the 70's.  Even though we only had two (barely) snow days - I have spring fever, am ready to flip our closet over and am ready for this to be an every day usual.  Derek came home early to go to the driving range so I tagged along and did some reading.

Saturday mornings we've started a little trend of stopping by Dunkin Donuts for coffee and donuts before driving by the new house for a quick view (one of a couple during the week).

Over the weekend we went up to New Jersey for the night to visit with Derek's family and celebrate a birthday.

Looks & Life Lately

Family time.  Can spring hurry up already?? I'm loving that each night it's a smidge lighter than the night before but we're still battling the winter laziness over here.

Last Thursday we had our first snow day of the year! We were both home from work, did the classic grilled cheese/tomato soup for lunch and enjoyed the break in the week.

Loving all the fresh flowers and displays that are out and about for Valentine's Day recently - everything is so festive and pretty.

My mom invited us all over and cooked us a delicious meal to celebrate Valentine's Day early - the food was fantastic and she had the table set so cute with a little treat for everyone.

And of course, last night we celebrated - very simply.  Pizza and catching up on our DVR shows - the perfect relaxing Tuesday night.  Chocolate covered strawberries with some more chocolate treats (that were dug into pretty quickly) made their way home with Derek while he got a tower of his favorite beer - simple and easy! We'll probably go out somewhere this weekend but this was a great weeknight treat.  Derek and my stepdad both sent over flowers and I love having the fresh blooms around to brighten up the house.  Of course I had to celebrate my galentine, Stella, with a few new pink toys.  

Looks & Life Lately

This pretty much sums up life lately - cozying up on the couch and keeping warm as we make our way through winter.  At least hopefully with February starting today, this month should go quicker??

Saturday night Penn State's hockey team was in town so we headed in to a box with my parents, brother and some other family members to watch.

I got my first use out of a new Christmas present recently - this suitcase - and was loving the separate compartments.  We don't usually carry on luggage but did this time and this suitcase makes it quite easy! 

A fun dinner out with friends - celebrity autographs all over the walls in the restaurant - great setting and great food.

I've been slacking on our walks in this cold - maybe just 2-3 days a week now so there have been dog toys everywhere! 

All good nights start with a little cheese plate.  Right??

In addition to eating in more this month, we've also tried to eat out using only gift cards from Christmas - great for date nights.
