Below I'm sharing some of my inspiration for the big day...
Tablescape:
There's not much I love more for a holiday than a nice tables cape. Pumpkins, pinecones, turkeys - there's a lot to work with for this holiday.
Place Settings:
It's always nice for someone to not have to wander around to find their seat, right? Plus, place cards add a nice little touch.
Serve:
Food always smells good enough to eat, but as a bonus add in a nice display. It doesn't have to be anything too crazy but adding in some little details would add a festive touch.
It goes without saying turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, macaroni and cheese, etc. are everyones favorites but here are some items with a twist to add to the big meal. Plus I'm never in charge of one of the main dishes just something "extra" to add.
cranberry brushetta // bacon wrapped tatertots // honey drizzled apple gouda bacon bites
cheddar biscuits // stuffing on a stick // cornucopia vegetable display
Sweet Treats
Whether asked or not I always like to make up some kind of dessert treat. I like baking and I don't like pie (gasp, I know) so this way ensures I get a treat I'll love too.
cheesecake cupcakes // pumpkin pie cookies // mini apple pies
turkey pretzel rods // peanut butter cookie truffles // fruit cones
On a slightly different, yet relatable not - my friends and I are going in a different direction for "Friendsgiving" this year with a lunch/brunch not dinner - why not celebrate this day as much as possible AND with friends too?! But how cute are the appetizers in this article that one of my best friends sent me.
I love the Friendsgiving brunch idea! That will be nice to eat a bunch of apps instead of lots of heavy food!

My old roommate and I were ahead of the Friendsgiving trend, we just had a potluck at our teeny apartment crammed around a folding table. It was so much fun, but a brunch sounds like the a fun TWIST!

Friendsgiving Brunch? I love it! We don't do a whole bunch of decorating for Thanksgiving but we do have super festive place cards every year.

ReplyDeleteLots of great inspiration in this post! It's going to be a quiet Thanksgiving this year for us - we aren't seeing either of our families - so I'll have to tuck this away for future years. :)
ReplyDeleteCheesecake cupcakes?! Yum yum yum! I'm definitely saving those for my husband. Cheesecake is one of his favorite things ever!
ReplyDeleteI love all of those gold and metallic pumpkins, so cute! One of my favorite things to do is have a themed table setting for different seasons, it just really helps to get you in the mood I think.
ReplyDeleteLove your inspiration from this post! My sister-in-law is hosting Thanksgiving this year so I can't wait to see what she picked out to decorate with :)
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas for the place settings! I'll take one of each of the eats and sweet treats! Love the round up! xo, Champagne&Suburbs

oooooh my gosh. I just posted a comment under my husband's account. I deleted it so please disregard!!! Haha. Looks like he was the last one logged into this computer... oops!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I wrote: I love those gold leaves with the guests' names in calligraphy. Gorgeous!
I've always wanted to make those mini apple pies… they are so cute and look SO yummy. We have yet to host Thanksgiving but I still swoon over all Thanksgiving tablescapes!
ReplyDeleteHow fun that you and your friends will be celebrating together! Great inspirations...now I'm hungry :)
ReplyDeleteI am so ready for some yummy Thanksgiving food. I'm never in charge of the main dish either. We travel up to see family, so I always pick things that I can make ahead of time and put in the fridge.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me so excited for Thanksgiving in a few days! I completely agree, I love a beautiful Tablescape and a few details for your guests to enjoy! Xo, Stephanie
