Dallas {Continued}

Continuing on today with the final part of our long weekend in Dallas.  If you missed the first part (wineries, George W. Bush library, etc.) - you can find it here.

SMU Football Game:
We continued our time at SMU with strolling the campus, checking out the tailgate area and heading to see the Mustangs play Tulsa.  They lost but we still had a great time.  The stadium is much smaller than Penn State and we had pretty good seats right by the field.  They also served beer in the stadium, something we aren't used to and had a live pony that ran out after every touchdown - my favorite!

We checked out a few shopping areas on the way back to the hotel including my favorite area - West Village.  Once the night hit we decided on a more low key dinner and Derek wanted to find a sports bar for the World Series and we wanted to check out Temple playing Notre Dame.  At the concierge's suggestion we decided on Henderson Tap House for wings, pizza, beer/wine and sports.

Top Golf:
We made our first visit to Top Golf and fell in love - we couldn't stop talking about it when you get back.  So many things to love - it's outdoors; yet undercover, you can eat/drink while you place, you have your own little area and my favorite it's not just a driving range, you play a variety of games.  As we expected, we had another great trip to Top Golf and wish we had one here - we've already eyed that there's one in our next vacation stop and most definitely will be going.

Cowboys Game:
On to the main event.  We made our way over to AT&T Stadium early to enjoy a little time outside in the Miller Light Plaza before heading down to our seats.  We usually sit in the same section every year but we moved a slight bit and really enjoyed the new view.  It was a low scoring but close game the whole time and unfortunately the Cowboys lost in the end but we still had a great time! Derek saw Dez right up close when he walked by our section, I saw Kelli, the cheerleaders director and we were seated right near my girls for up close views.

Dealey Plaza, The Grassy Knoll & JFK:
We had a bit of time Monday before heading home so we went walking to get a little workout in and head back to check out the JFK sights - we hadn't been back down there for two years.  Upon arriving we noticed a lot of people in old fashion clothes and realized they were filming a movie - LBJ!  We hung around long enough for filming to start and watched the motorcade take off and JFK's "assassination" before the director yelled cut.  It was really interesting to watch.

That's a wrap! Until next year, Dallas…

Happy TGIT!
Linking up with Thoughts for Thursday today.

  4. I once went to a SMU football game in high school and they were pretty terrible, but going to any college game is fun in my book so I'm glad that y'all had a good time! Y'all had amazing seats for the Dallas game, and I'm sorry that they ended up losing! If only Tony Romo wasn't hurt! Again so cool that y'all got to see part of a filming for a movie! Did y'all see anybody famous?
