Blue & White Gala

Happy Monday, everyone - I hope you all had a great weekend.  We sure did here minus the snow on Saturday - how crazy... in April! We had fun laying low with things like massages, brunch, happy hour in town and picking up some supplies to start playing tennis.  Last night we grabbed some appetizers for dinner and like most people watched the Master's - we were really hoping for another Jordan win or our new favorite - Smylie.

To start the weekend on Friday night we spent the evening at the Merion Cricket Club for the Penn State Blue & White Ball (for the local Brandywine campus).  My stepdad is one of the board members for the campus and my brother, stepdad and myself are board members on my grandparent's foundation - which is one of the sponsors for the night.  Of course we all are huge fans of the blue & white (the spring game is this weekend, in fact! and I can't wait).

The venue is gorgeous, there was a fabulous live band and the food stations were such fun.  After a great cheese display for the cocktail hour... a cheesesteak, burger slider, salmon slider station with milkshakes (delicious!) and shoestring fries as well as a pasta bar with veggie pasta and mac & cheese in a blush sauce with caesar salad for another station and finally an asian bar with noodles, dumplings, sweet & sour shrimp and a few types of chicken rounded out the dinner display.

There was a silent auction as well as another fun table that I loved.  For donating $5, you take a handful of heresy kisses from a jar and if you have a number on yours then you win a prize out of about ten prize options.  My stepdad and I did two handfuls each and won two of the prizes I wanted the most - plus we got to keep all the heresy kisses we picked - it was the best!

I love a good charity event / fundraiser / end of the year event and this one is one of my favorites - it was such a fun night!
