A new year means tons of new paper goods around here. I love having a cute wall calendar to look at.
I didn't want to let go of all the Christmas decorations right away so I kept the table going and switched out the Christmas plates for tartan monogram napkins - a win in my book.
monogram napkins - mark & graham
I think this was the closest to the front of the line I've ever been for the Lilly sale despite always logging on right at 8am
This tunic dress is one of my favorites - I love a simple black/white as well as window pane look. Date Night looks: tunic | earrings
My favorite kind of night with a margarita in hand (especially these) and some chips, salsa and guacamole.
Mondays are so much better now. I've also been on such a hot chocolate kick, it's the perfect little after dinner treat.
We usually make this bridesmaids bread to have on hand when guests come over because our guests are usually asking for it. If you need a simple bread to make (and are a lover of almond/vanilla flavorings) definitely give this a try!
Since we didn't travel over the holiday we didn't see Derek's family so his parents made a visit down to celebrate Christmas the first weekend in January. It was the perfect time to celebrate and an extra event to look forward to after the holiday.
We had my parents and brother over for a night at our house and a little holiday party which we're hoping to make a new tradition in efforts to not be so busy during Christmas break.
Up until this week the weather hasn't been too cold so we've been trying to take advantage of extra walks anytime we can. No walks this week and I don't expect any for the rest of the week either - winter is really here.
dress: here (just $15 now and 30% off on top of that!)
Last week two of our best college friends happened to be in town the same night so we had a great time having dinner, drinks and catching up.
And just because…
No the biggest fan of January either. Everything is dreary and cold. Looks like you're making it a bright month though with all your fun. Love the window pane dress!
ReplyDeleteMy cat always checks out bags when I bring them home! I didn't check out the LP online sale this year. I usually go to their warehouse sale in the summer since it's about 35 mins away from me. Always some good finds there!

I love that tunic and the bridesmaids breads look delicious. I will definitely have to try the recipe. This may be the first year I did not join in on the LP sale. Being pregnant, I can wear nothing but scarves right now! And I also still have my holiday centerpiece out. I am thinking it looks very wintry.
ReplyDeleteLove that window pane tunic! Such a great date night look. Those tartan napkins are super cute, especially with the monogram. A great way to keep some Christmas cheer around the house without being too "Christmas-y."
ReplyDeleteLove that white tunic -it's so pretty and yay for new paper products...it's the best part of January LOL! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteLoving your looks lately--looks like you guys have been keeping busy in these chillier days (well, now that it's actually cold haha). So much fun with family and friends, too!!
ReplyDeleteI love that you're doing Christmas with Derek's family after the chaos of Christmas is over--it makes the holiday a little less stressful. I wish we were able to do that but both of our families live in the same town as us, so that would never work. Love the black and white tunic on you!

Looks like y'all are having an awesome start to a new year!
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm definitely loving Monday nights now, too! :) Still can't get over crazy Olivia. And I'll have to try that bread!!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet are the pups all tuckered out together?! Roxy always has to inspect all the bags when we get back from shopping too, it's adorable! Loving that tunic dress on you, so pretty <3
ReplyDeleteGreen Fashionista
That black and white tunic is so cute! Winter is officially here too. I haven't seen the grass in a long time -- it's white everywhere
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I really like about January is the end of it! I love the swing dress...Old Navy always has such cute clothes for good prices!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are the cutest! Loving all of your outfits.... and that margarita haha
ReplyDeleteThat bread looks so good! I love baking bread and having it around for breakfast
ReplyDeleteah i love these posts! love those napkins with the monogram. and the lilly dress is so cute! could go with any season. fingers crossed the rest of the month goes quickly!!

I love the multi-tasking with the margarita hahaha. Nice work! That black printed dress is cute on you and seriously we have the same backsplash in our kitchen. Minus your pretty detailing. :-) Oh and that food looks delicious. :-)
ReplyDeleteHot chocolate makes anything better!!! And so does the bachelor ;) Love love your tunic! So cute! Happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteLots of cuteness in here!!! I have that same tunic "dress" but in black and white and am wearing it right now! Love! The Lily "line" is hilarious ... online shopping is supposed to be for people who DON'T want to deal with crowds! :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that cute calendar! Where did you get it from? This would look super cute in a office area! :)
ReplyDeleteFinn does the same thing when I come home with shopping bags - he's so spoiled that there usually is one thing in there for him! Isn't that calendar the best?! I have the same one hanging in my home office. Always love seeing what you're up to lately!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite night includes margaritas and guacamole too. It's a good reminder of warmer weather during this chilly winter!
ReplyDeleteIf we could skip the entire month of January... I think that I would be totally ok with that! However, it looks like your finding lots of things to make January a lot less dreary than normal. I love it!
ReplyDeleteIt has been a struggle getting up this week with it being so cold outside! Love those dresses!
ReplyDeleteSo much excitement!! I am pinning that bread right now, and now I need that swing dress - $15 no way!
ReplyDeleteI'm obsessed with your monogram napkins!!
ReplyDeleteYou and your tunics are perfect together. So gorgeous! Also, I love that your husband took picture of you in Home Depot, as bloggers sometimes it's like "someone take pictures of me too" hahah at least for me.
ReplyDeleteI love that calendar! Is it bad that January is almost over and I still don't have one for 2016? Ha! My table looks very bare after taking down Christmas and those napkins are so perfect!
ReplyDeleteJanuary is definitely not my fave either - too cold and drab, and sad when we have to put the Christmas decor away. I always get the itch to clean out everything and I also get the itch to travel. So strange! Hope you're enjoying your Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteYour calendar is so cute, and I love how you just switched out for plaid to transition from the holidays to winter on your table! You seriously can't go wrong with a margarita and chips and salsa! Mexican food really is the best!
ReplyDeleteugh that tunic is adorable! I had it in my shopping cart forever but never pulled the trigger and now its out of stock! wah-its so cute on you!!
ReplyDeleteJanuary is my least favourite month! There is nothing to look forward to and the temps are so cold, its -3 degrees here!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely with you on the whole organisation front my house is full of so much clutter I hate it.
January is definitely the worst, I'm so glad we are halfway through! My dog does the exact same thing every time we come home from any shopping trip :)
ReplyDeleteLove your looks lately! How fun that you all had an after Christmas get together! That has to take a lot of pressure off the holiday. Hot chocolate has been a nightly ritual for me lately too!

Life lately looks awesome on you! Margs is definitely the best way to unwind.
ReplyDeleteThe Bachelor being back is the BEST part about January! And this season has been so good so far, too! That bridesmaid bread looks amazing - will definitely be giving that one a try!
ReplyDeleteYou just made me severely hungry for chips and salsa! Also, I love those monogrammed napkins!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the monograms on your linens!! Did the retailer do them or did you have them done after the fact?! I mightttttt have to try that!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that old navy dress! I actually went yesterday to get it because one of my friends had it and I loved it so much but they were sold out :(
ReplyDeleteThat bread is right up my alley. I love everything almond and vanilla. Looks like a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteMy pups always think that Target bags include things for them, too!
