Friday's Feature {1/14}

Happy Friday Everyone! I took yesterday to catch up on some emails and refresh but things are back to normal around here today.  We had two different friends from college in town this week for two different reasons so it was fun to spend time with them and have a mini reunion but like last week, I feel like I'm crawling into the weekend.  These temperatures are not helping either.  I've been on a huge hot chocolate kick lately (Wawa's is my absolute favorite) and over the holidays tried some homemade and it was so delicious.

Crockpot Hot Chocolate:
I'm already searching for another time I can make this - it's a little but much for just Derek and I but great for a group.  Or just for fun on a snow day, maybe???


Ingredients: 
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
14 ounce can of sweeter condensed milk
6 cups milk
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups chocolate chips

Directions:
Pour all the ingredients into the crockpot and throughly whisk together.  Cook on low for two hours and stir occasionally.  Serve with whip cream and marshmallows.

Other Happenings:

  • Last night we didn't have anything for dinner and wanted to stay in to relax.  Enter Chick Fil A drive through - the perfect low key date in my mind :)
  • Well, Cheers to all you Alabama fans (we were rooting for Clemson) but what a game - I loved that it wasn't a blowout for either side.  Now what are we going to do for the next 8 months until college football is back??
  • I've added another Lauren and JoJo to my Bachelor Favorites along with the ones from last week (Lauren - the flight attendant, Amanda.  Gosh, I do wish it was maybe on Tuesday night - I always have trouble staying up the first night of the week and make it about 10 minutes into the after show.
  • Sarah at Meet the Shaneyfelts shared some delicious looking red velvet valentine bars this week that would be delicious in the coming weeks.
  • The winner of the New Year's giveaway was Terry Stevens, Congratulations Terry!

    Love hot chocolate. I have never tried making my own, but this sounds perfect for the holidays or for a party! Chick fil a is always a good idea - yum. Happy Friday!

    Haha I had Chick-fil-a for dinner last night too. And by dinner I mean I stopped by on my way home from work at around 3:40...so basically I ate dinner at 4:00.

    I've always wanted to DIY some hot chocolate and your recipe sounds delicious!! I'll have to pick up the ingredients this weekend. We did a Lowes + Chick-fil-A drive through last night for our date night. It was perfect :) Hope you have a great weekend!

    I have a friend from New Jersey and she LOVES Wa Wa coffee! So much so that Brandon brings her back some every time he travels to the Northeast for work. Ha! (And of course Chick-fil-A is always the right answer!)

    That hot chocolate would be perfect for a big group, or if you're on a big hot chocolate kick like you. That's so awesome that your friends came into town and you got to seem them all! Impromptu reunions are always the best! In my book, Chick-fil-a is always a good idea, and perfect for when you just don't feel like doing anything! Hope you have a great weekend!

    Happy Friday! I love hot chocolate :) We love low key dates like that. Since I've been sick this week anyway we did takeout and some Netlix bingeing and debate watching last night. Relaxing nights like that are some of my favorites!

    I'm so sad that college football is over, too. And goodness gracious are we tired of Alabama! We did pull for them just because I can't turn my back on the SEC, but I sure wish we could have just beaten them this year. Then maybe someone else would have the championship!

    Lauren B is my absolutely favorite!! I liked Olivia the first week but this week she was ANNOYING!! I always DVR it then start it like 45 minutes through so I can fast forward through commercials
