Looks & Life Lately {5}

I guess today is more like just life lately… not too many looks.  BUT I'll have plenty of looks to share when I start recapping our vacation.  Also pretty short & sweet which is seeming to be the theme around here this week.

Last night was a total "lazy" lounge night and I didn't hate it - magazines, tv and blog catchup… pretty relaxing.

When I gathered all that's been going on for a post I realized there was a trend during pre-vacation week: family, pups and dinners… (next looks & life will be more interesting…)  We have had some other fun events and gatherings in the past few weeks not shown below and are enjoying closing out summer (well sort of - I don't want it to end!)

We went into "vacation mode" early around the Thursday before we left and cleared out our fridge/pantry for trash day and convinced my parents to go on a double date with us {my brother was golfing and Derek wished he was too} to my favorite mexican place… al fresco, of course.

Aren't they precious?! I think they enjoyed their marg/sangria more than us.  And the fresh table side guac - yum yum yum.

My parents watched Stella for some of the week and mom and I practiced taking pictures so she could send while we were away - the two of them ended up looking perfect in the "test" photos. {Hi, Mom!}

I knew we were going to be doing things the nights before our trip so we got packed this time probably the quickest/earliest we ever have.  I think our suitcases were out with most things in them by Wednesday night.  And not TOO overpacked at that :)

sneakers: nike free

We ate on the deck at my parent's house to kick off vacation week and not much makes me happier than that.  There was beautiful weather and we had a nice long dinner outside.

We also slept over (my favorite!) too since they were taking us to the airport.  Nash did not object to some extra quality time.

dress: similar style {and under $30!}

Derek snapped this picture of Stella and I on Sunday when we got back {I was actually sleeping - clearly she was just cuddling, ha!} and I was so happy to see when I woke up - love snuggles with my gal.
*I'm upside down on the bed because I just *had* to watch the PLL finale the minute we got home and wanted to lay nearest to the TV.

I went into the Lilly sale this year with no specific wants and not really wanting a lot in general - I mean it was 8am the day after I got home.  Fall is kind of my "off season" for Lilly so I was pleased with the finds.  I walked away with an elsa top for me and an elsa top for my mom and was fully content.

I didn't really mind the virtual line.  I loved knowing when I'd get onto the site {note: it was NOT one minute, about a minute later it switched to an hour, then I'd say within about 20ish minutes I was on.}  It was a great way to try to kick off the sale in an organized fashion since you had to get back in the waiting line after you checked out once so other people could go, which I thought was pretty fair.

What did everyone think of the new system and the virtual line?  Did you get what you wanted?

  1. Way to not overpack, lady! That's awesome! I really liked the virtual line, people couldn't freak out about the site crashing. Although, that is one of my favorite reads every year. It is insane how seriously freaked out people can be about clothing. The picture of you sleeping is too cute and Stella is precious as always.

  5. I think what you've been up to lately is awesome! Parental time, Stella snuggles, shopping, and traveling? How does it get much better? Love how bright and colorful your suitcase was :) So glad you got something during the Lilly sale, and didn't have to deal with utter chaos!

  7. The PLL finale was insane, so I totally understand wanting to watch it as soon as possible. And I love that your mom sent you pictures of Stella while you were on your trip! We had to remind my parents when we were in Hawaii to send us picture updates.

  8. How cute is Stella?? I love that your parents sent you pictures of her while you were away. That is adorable. I love all your lilly clothing. So fun. The virtual line idea is brillant. Now, why didn't Target think of that??

  9. I liked the line they had for the Lilly sale. I found a few things for my upcoming honeymoon in October. Unfortunately I couldn't find a straw/gold clutch/small bag and I few things I was hoping would be on sale weren't. If you have any good honeymoon bag recommendations I'd love to hear them. I also live in the Philadelphia area and was wondering if you'd share the name of the Mexican restaurant you went to in this post. The drinks look yummy and I like the idea of eating outside. I'm new to your blog and have enjoyed the posts I've read so far.

  16. I need to be better about not overpacking - it's all in the preparation. Anytime I try and pack quickly I end up throwing in way too many things.

  23. Oh the PLL finale... I was disappointed. I wanted it to be more of a betrayal. Cece was hardly in the show! I liked it better when we thought it was Andrew since he dated Aria and was friends with Spencer...that would've been a betrayal!
