The Perfect Summer Day

We made a little visit to New Jersey over the weekend to visit Derek's family and friends and I also got to enjoy an ideal summer day consisting of many of my favorite things including a visit to one of my best gal's houses.  On Saturday, Derek and I both did our favorite things - he golfed and I pool lounged.

I call it the perfect summer day because it was just that - it was what I envision when I think of summer.  Pool time, lounging on the rafts, pink lemonade cocktails, homemade pasta salad and girl time with my gal.



I could pool float for hours - There is no better way to enjoy the sun than on a float.

It was Sam's sister's birthday so we got a little time with her before she headed out to celebrate.  Happy Birthday, Carly!


Stella had the best time doing circles in the pool… 

… And becoming bestie pup friend's with Sam's dog, Clyde.

It was such a perfect summer day that we even returned for a round two on Sunday before heading home.  

It was a great time catching up with my "second family".  Stella especially thought so :)

    I definitely agree with you on that! The BEST way to be by the pool or spend a hot summer day is ON the float IN the pool! :)

    So fun! Sounds like the perfect day to me, too! I wish we had a pool so Bella could swim, she absolutely loves it but only gets to when we go to the beach on the weekends

    My silly dog will NOT swim; just dip in and then get right back out. Human or puppy, the pool/water is the only way to be outside these days!

    Lounging by the pool is my idea of the perfect day too! Though I don't get to lounge much anymore. It's mostly feeding an infant, chasing a toddler, feeding the toddler, and playing with said toddler, but I wouldn't trade it. Soon enough I'll get to lounge again and I'll miss the chaos. :)
