Looks and Life Lately {4}

This week has been flying by and dragging at the same time.  It has been oh so  b u s y.  While I'm loving the busy times I am looking forward to later in August with a little quiet to just enjoy, relax and soak up the final bits of summer.

Dining With Stella
One of my summer bucket list items was to get to a dog friendly bar or restaurant.  While originally I was thinking of heading into the city because there are a few there, we went for somewhere closer.  We realized the restaurant that we love and frequent across the street is dog friendly so the three of us dined on the patio - Derek and I got dinner and Stella got a water bowl and a lot of attention.

Wedding Video
Our wedding video finally came a couple weeks ago… after ten months!  We set up dinner in the family room one night to watch it but we were so busy that we really need to go back and watch another time for real - I'm thinking of holding off again until closer to our anniversary.

Robe: love ophelia

Post Dinner Walks
We've been loving our post dinner walks - it's a nice little quick way to catch up and get in a little extra exercise.  Plus, sometimes our dog walks herself.

Shopping Day Out With Mom
Since we work together, every once in a while Mom and I will take a day away from the office for a little shopping excursion - it's always nice to get out during the week because of how quiet it is.  We always split the same lunch and have the best time.  On this day we each picked up just a few nice goodies including matching flannels!

Dining Under the Stars
The season is moving right along and we go to a handful of favorite restaurants this past month (but not many photos!) Always such great family time.

Phillies Nights
We've been to a few games this month including this night where Penn State's Football coach, James Franklin threw out the first pitch… not much longer until we're back in Beaver Stadium in our navy & white!

Shorts: here (on sale for $29 + an additional 50% off!) // Top: similar style (also on sale + and additional 50% off)

Daycare Dog of the Week
Our little pride and joy was the daycare dog of the week a couple weeks ago - Go Stella!  Our family dog, Nash got the honor last summer.

New Jersey Visit
Like I said earlier this week when sharing about my perfect summer day, we made a visit up to New Jersey last weekend to spend some time with my Derek's family.  It's always a few degrees cooler up there, perfect for walking Stella and time out on the patio.  When we were pulling out of his brother and sister-in-law's house we stumbled across this little guy right out my window - which is a regular occurrence for them!

Summer Nights
After a BBQ and some family time my best gal came over to visit us and have a nice little summer night out on the patio - until we got to chilly and had to go inside… Never happens at home!!

Other Happenings…
We had a little family shopping trip to stock up on some necessities including one big one we stumbled across - a Penn State outfit for Stella.  We don't dress her up (other than her life jacket) but for game days we most definitely will.

Once nice blog reader (who happens to live in the same house with me and share the same last name) noticed that I shared my love for sunflowers and how I had been wanting some and he happened to come home with some that night - a fun treat!

Lazy mornings in bed are my favorite it's the only time recently I've had to just "play" aka search Pinterest, other blogs, etc. on my iPad and I love the down time.

Derek said he'd handle dinner on Sunday when we got back from traveling and then this appeared and I was not complaining - a nice little pizza night on the deck.

And just because…

  4. That romper is to die for, I absolutely love it! We love going to dog friendly restaurants and after moving to Atlanta learned that most breweries allow dogs. The Braves have two "Bark in the Park" nights each season so check and see if the Phillies do too because most teams offer them. It makes for the cutest pictures :)

And the wedding video is such a cherished piece. We still pull our out (almost 10 years later) and I get all gushy/mushy over it. I love it.

  14. Stella!! Congrats to her on her award. What good girl she is!! We don't have a wedding video, just an album. That is sweet though. I'm sure that it will be fun to relive that day. :-) I love sunflowers too. They are just so bright and happy!! Love your romper too!! Have a great day!!

  15. Restaurants that allow you to bring your fur babies along are the best! So cute that Stella walks herself, and that she was dog of the month at daycare. A lot of people look at me like I'm crazy when we say that we send our dog to daycare, but it's the best thing ever!
Agreed, Stella definitely needs to show her team spirit when it's football time! I can't wait to see her in her Penn State outfit!

  20. Good job Stella! :) I'm so jealous of your dining under the stars evenings. It sounds so fun. I think we are down to 2 restaurants to eat at for dinner here where I live. I guess 2 is better than none, right!? ;)

  26. Yay for Stella getting daycare doggie of the week! She is just the cutest! I swear, every time I look at her it reminds me of our sweet doggie that we had for 13 years when I was growing up. I miss him so much!

  27. Looks like y'all have been up to a lot lately! Getting your wedding video is so exciting! Ours took about right at a year to get... we were counting down the days because if it takes longer than a year, you're supposed to get your money back lol

  28. It is so awesome that you and your mom are able to squeeze in a little shopping time together. That is too cute. The picture of Stella "holding" her own leash is awesome. You guys trained her well, haha. What a great husband...sunflowers AND pizza!

  29. So much goodness, lady! Love dining with my doggie and your romper with the pom detail is just adorable :) Finally going to a baseball game tonight or I'd be extra jealous of your recent visit!

  30. I always love shopping with my mom, but I don't get to do it much anymore! My parents always have deer in the yard, I love watching them. And those pictures of Stella at the end are just so darn cute!!

  31. You guys always have so much fun!! I love that you found a restaurant to take Stella. There used to be a dog bar here, but it closed. :(

  32. OMG Stella as Daycare Dog of the Week, too cute!! Love the matching flannel with your mom! We have a dog-friendly place at the beach, I want to take my little Yorkie sometime!

  33. Lots of fun stuff! Cute photos of you and you're mom. We love taking our dog out on Sunday's for brunch or lunch at dog friendly restaurants. She gets LOTS of attention and loves it!

  34. Yes lazy mornings are the best. I am so not a morning person and need a least 30 minutes in bed after I wake up before I actually get my booty out of bed. I usually get my mom to bring me a cup of tea whilst I check all my social media. Perfect start to the day!
You and your mom are exactly like me and my mom we always go shopping together and enjoy days out! I am so close with my mom I love it.

  35. My husband and I were talking the other day about planning a trip to catch a Phillies game!

  36. Dog friendly restaurants are the best (even though I'm not a dog owner); Seattle is full of them! And now I want to go back & watch my wedding video. My wedding was 5 years ago, and I don't think I've watched since we first got it!

  37. Your mom is sooo pretty! I hope I can look that good at her age.

  38. This summer and life in general has been so good to you lately! I'm so jealous that you and your mom live so close by and even work together - my mom and I used to do shopping days like that growing up (she would call me in sick to school and I felt SO cool, haha). Loving all your wardrobe choices, and little Miss Stella is just so adorable!

  39. Looks like you've been up to so many different fun things lately!! Love your shorts at the game, too!

  40. Wow I think I'd die if I had to wait 10 months for our wedding video. You must be one patient woman. ;) We have to wait 12 weeks, and it's already killing me. Also, LOVING your shorts from the baseball game.
