Looks & Life Lately

House Update:
I'll have our December update in a week or so but the foundation is poured, the lumber was delivered this week and Stella made her first visit since we broke ground - couldn't pass up a photo opp like this.

Penn State Tailgate Party:
Derek and I alway host our extended family (all PSU fans!) for a tailgate party when the team is on the road for one of their night games.  This year we did it a couple weekends ago and had it catered - so easy.

Thanksgiving Eve:
It never feels like the holiday until you go home, right?  My brother and I went over to my parents house Thanksgiving Eve afternoon for lunch, so my mom could help me prep food for the next day - I would have been lost without her and my brother started setting up the tree.  I snuck in a little bit of relaxing time to get a start on shopping the sales too.

When I got back Derek's parents had arrived to we took them out for a quick dinner and when we came home more of the family had arrived so our nieces helped me in the kitchen... and we're wondering why the food wasn't out yet!

Getting into the Christmas Spirit:
We got our tree put up, the lights on and the ornaments hung the day after Thanksgiving.  We spend the following Sunday decorating the rest of the inside, getting the other two trees up and putting a few things up outside - 'tis the season.

This sums up the afternoon after hosting...

Thanks for stopping by! xx

  9. I am so jealous that you get to build you house from scratch. Here in CA you need $600,000 in cash just to buy a fixer up house.
