They had plans Friday when I got there so it was a full day to relax by the pool for me! I headed down right when I arrived, grabbed some lunch for myself at the pool bar and spent the rest of the day in the sun. They also had plans Friday night with friends and I was more than happy to lounge in the room with some wine and a pizza order. All in all it was a very nice and relaxing day and such fun to literally have nothing to do for a vacation day/night. We did run out to grab ice cream at my favorite spot (remembered from previous trips), Larry's, which has the best ice cream, gelato and sundaes.
The weather was in the mid 70's with very few clouds each day so I took advantage of the bridge near the hotel to get in a nice walk each morning - about two miles or so. I wasn't by myself today - I joined my parents to do a little shopping (we each found some things!) and then lunch on the beach in Clearwater at Frenchy's. It was off to the pool for all of us until time for dinner after that.
Saturday night I tagged along with them and their friends to one of my favorites, Ocean Prime! This specific location also had a delicious butter cake for dessert which is one of mine and Derek's favorites.
We also took in a Phillies spring training game (more on that tomorrow) but I was able to log a little time in the sun before heading to the stadium. On our last night we had the same dinner plans, just with different people. They met up with their friends and I met up with playgroup friends - we've been friends since we were babies! - all at the same restaurant, The Hurricane.
My group did happy hour and drinks on the quite breezy rooftop to watch the sunset before heading to a lower outdoor area for the main course. Dinner was slow but we didn't mind, we had the best time catching up and then met my parent's group at the bar for post dinner drinks.
Monday was a little of the same, pool, walk, eat, relax before heading back home again. I love when Derek and my brother are around too but it was nice to get all the attention on this weekend away!
