Day Five: Boat Cruising
We love any change to be on a boat while traveling and many times include a boat ride, tour or cruise into our plans. We'd actually done this same boat cruise previously and enjoyed it so why not do it again? We didn't have to be at the boat until a little before noon so we took the morning to get a workout in (overlooking the pools and ocean) and hit the hotel shops - including a Lilly Pulitzer!
Different from our last cruise, the boat has a restaurant on board now so we each went for the caesar salad with blackened shrimp as well as a few cocktails (those they did have before!) Storms were expected all day so it was a little windy on the ride out but we lucked out with less wind and still no rain for the ride back in.
We enjoyed time on the front deck as well as off the upper deck on the back of the boat and took in the scenery including lots of classic Palm Beach mansions.
Once we got back we were thrilled to see that the storms hadn't rolled in yet so we quickly got ourself down to the pool, which we pretty much had all to ourself! Late in the pool day the storms finally rolled in so we called it a day and spent some time back in the hotel shops and just relaxing around the place.
The Breakers has so many amazing dining options to offer so we didn't really see the need to leave the property and tested out the Italian Restaurant tonight (new to us!) and it didn't disappoint. The portions were huge and we left very full (chicken parmesan for Derek and lasagna for me). We grabbed some drinks at HMF in the hotel and visited with a friend before wrapping up the day.
The beach all lit up at night with the moon over top was a gorgeous view.
Day Six: Biking & Pooling
Our last day of the trip, always sad to see it come! Today was definitely our coolest day - the storms brought in some chilly weather but it didn't matter to us - high 60's and full sunshine would be just fine for us to enjoy our last pool day.
We rented bikes at the hotel to take over and bike along Lake Trail along the water as well as some gorgeous homes. We passed by a main strip in Palm Beach on the way (Kyle Richard's has a location of her Kyle by Alene Too store there) and Sprinkles Ice Cream shop. Despite it being late morning, I felt a scoop of ice cream, or two, was in order after our ride! The chocolate peanut butter did not disappoint!
After a delicious lunch at Ocean House we were off for a nice, long pool day. The cooler temperatures made for some great hot tub time too.
An early dinner was perfect before heading off to catch our flight so we made our way into The Seafood Bar and opted to sit at the bar since the bar is basically a fish tank underneath with fish swimming throughout. We split some calamari and both went with the seafood club which was a perfect final meal.
Oh, and meanwhile back at home, Stella was having a ball. She absolutely adores my parents and sometimes we joke that we think she prefers it at their house with all their attention mixed with Nash's toys to play with (I love getting these photos when we are away!)…
All in all it was a fabulous time away. It wasn't our first time in Palm Beach and certainly won't be our last. We're creatures of habit and when we find destinations we like, we tend to stick to them. Plus Florida is such an easy flight from Philadelphia!
