After a short week last week spending time with family, this regular week felt like it went on forever. We finished out the Dining Under the Stars season (since it's getting dark earlier, we truely were "dining under the stars").
Popemania is in full force around here and we are headed right up to State College to get away from the complete madness (seriously, there are port-a-potties lined up at the local train station and half the city is shut down) - I'm more than happy watching all the excitement on TV, a much better view - in fact, yesterday I sat down after my workout and didn't get up for over a half hour because I was so intrigued.
Feature:
I am not a rule breaker. At all with anything. I've always firmly believed white pants/shorts are okay after Memorial Day and until Labor Day. This year - I'm over the rules. I rarely wear pants in the summer (way too hot!) and September is the perfect time for them. White pants make outfits look crisper, they are my new pre-fall favorite. They might be my new fall favorite - I am not opposed to the white pants with boots look. They especially fit in for game weekends at Penn State mixed with navy.
Do you wear white past Labor Day?? Before Memorial Day??

My favorite white pants below…
I'm normally not a rule breaker, as you know, haha. But, I'm digging the breaking of this rule, you look great, lady! Have a fabulous Friday!
ReplyDeleteI am all about white pants after Labor Day!! Love your outfits! Hope you guys have a great weekend! Xoxo
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy that Fall shows are back - it's been fun having stuff to watch this week! Have a great weekend! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteYes to the white pants after labor day! There are so many outfits that look cute with white pants/skinnies, especially for fall! Be a rule breaker! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm loving Fall tv too--lots to look forward to! Have a great weekend girl!
I am normally not a rule breaker either but with these temperatures I definitely agree with you! Too early to put the white jeans away! So happy for fall shows to be back! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove the outfits! I think it's okay to break that rule. So many of the "rules" like that have been blown to smitherines so why not another one. :)
ReplyDeleteI embraced white after Labor Day a few years ago and never looked back! I think it looks great with tall boots and flats alike! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your style; go for the white pants- they totally work! Enjoy your weekend :)
ReplyDeleteI love these looks! I have always hated the no white after Labor Day rule--keep turning those heads, girl!
ReplyDeletei love white pants year round--i really love a winter white look too. have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteI always rock white after labor day! In my defense, if it's still 90 degrees out down here why can't I? Rules were meant to be broken! I always make sausage pancake muffins for early tailgates! Breakfast in one bite haha! Have a great weekend!

I love your white pants! I have a pair of white skinny jeans that I like to wear during the winter with boots. Can't wait to pair them with my booties this year! Those biscuit sandwiches I made yesterday would be perfect for a morning tailgate! I've also seen some delicious egg recipes on pinterest that you can make in a muffin pan for bite size.
ReplyDeleteLove these looks! So cute with the boots for fall.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this! I'm all about white after Labor Day, as it was a silly rule back when people would "summer" out in the Hamptons and put their whites away when returning to the city in the fall. And I hear ya on not wearing pants in the summer, it's way too hot and there are too many pretty sundresses to wear. You look awesome rockin' the white pants girl, happy fall <3

These outfits are SO cute!!! I guess I should break out my white jeans again!! :-) I like them with the navy top, that is my favorite. I hope that you have a great weekend!! :-)
ReplyDeleteAs a girl from the South, I was always taught to not wear white after Labor Day and before Easter. But I'm with you these days…I'm pretty much over not wearing white in September and early October when it's hotter than you-know-what in Texas. I mean, I'm not big on wearing it in the winter (other than "winter white") but I haven't yet packed mine away yet. (And it's a high of 90* in Dallas today as I type this. Ugh!)
ReplyDeleteI'm totally on team white after Labor Day. There is a way to wear white without it screaming SUMMER. White jeans look great with boots.

You look great! I love white pants year round!!

I love white pants, so I love the idea of wearing them all times of the year! Hooray for tailgating! If it's an early game we try to make breakfast tacos or something like that for our tailgates.
ReplyDeleteSo many pretty outfits. The pants look great on you! I don't see what the big deal is about wearing white after Labor Day.
ReplyDeleteCute outfits! I don't have any white jeans to try this with this year but am thinking I need some white skinnies for next summer! We're excited to watch Blood & Oil and I'm going to give Quantico a try but it looks like it could either be great or awful. Happy Friday!

Oooh I love the fall version of that floral tank! That would be a perfect combo of fall colors while still staying cool for SC weather :)
ReplyDeleteAll of the Pope stuff going on is crazy. I've heard of friends of friends who are renting out their apartments for over $20k. It's mind blowing. You're much closer to the action than I am, so I don't blame you for getting away! I think it's completely fine to wear white pants/shorts after Labor Day. If the weather permits, why not? I'm planning on taking white shorts with me to Florida in November!
ReplyDeleteAll of these looks are SO amazing! I have never been one to follow the whole fashion rule on white. I say, wear white whenever the freak you want to! I'm so glad I came across your cute blog. Let's be friends :)

I'm typically a rule follower as well, but I won't hesitate to rock white pants after Labor Day.
ReplyDeleteAnd yay for TGIT!! I was completely hooked on Scandal last night.
I'm like you-been a rule follower forever and never wore white pants after Labor Day, but I've been really itching to do it this year with a striped sweater! :)
ReplyDeleteI've seen a few white-after-Labor-Day looks I'm loving, and especially when paired with booties I've gotta bust those bad boys back out, I do believe! Thanks for the inspiration ;)
ReplyDeleteYou look great with that outfits:)
ReplyDeleteI think the white rule just applies to shoes! You can definitely rock some white pants year round! The term Winter White is sticking out in my mind. You are all set. BTW I love your pants! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteOMG 21 years ago?! That's insane! And I vote yes to the white pants after Labor Day - you look awesome!
ReplyDeleteI gave up on the "rules" years ago.. but I find it weird how even if I don't know the date (I never know the date, ever. Like you could tell me today is September 3rd and I would be like "k") I CAN TELL it's after Labor Day when I go to grab something white, even if it's one day after. I guess my grandma really ingrained that one in my head haha
ReplyDeleteI think this is a rule that is meant to be broken! Especially for Penn State games!
ReplyDeleteIt's still in the high 80s here in Mississippi so white jeans are totally fine in my book!
ReplyDeleteYou are rocking those white jeans babe :) you look awesome

Lookin' great in the white jeans! I don't care about the Labor Day but I generally put them away when the fall temps go lower. I cannot believe that Friends premiered 21 years ago. Good lord! That makes me feel so old! Now, I didn't really start watching it until I was older (I was only 8 when it premiered) but my goodness i remember it so vividly! Have a wonderful weekend!

ReplyDeleteI agree that white pants make an outfit look so good! Keep rocking them!
ReplyDeleteI'm all about white pants all year round! You just can't go wrong with them, especially in the cooler months with boots and a cozy sweater. Yay for TGIT! What did you think of the shows last week? Scandal always knows how to keep things interesting.
