Remembering Grandma Dot

I like to keep things pretty light and positive on this little blog and am fairly private but things have been a little bit off the past week.

My sweet Grandma who was truly one of my favorite people and best friends went to be with Jesus Tuesday of last week.  She was the centerpiece of our family and our "Queen Bee" if you will.

We've spent the past week with much extra family time trying to laugh and remember as she would have wanted instead of being sad.  Today we're saying our final goodbyes until we meet again, honoring her each step of the way from here on out.

I always thought she'd live forever - literally.  She was my favorite gal to sip wine with - chat with - hang out with - etc., in fact afer about 10 or so spring visits to florida plus more family events that I can count we've had more than our fair share of cocktails, laughs and memories together.  She was very involved in one of the  biggest years in my life and while I'm heartbroken the memories we made won't continue, I am beyond blessed for those we have already made.

She was such an inspirational lady with quite the spunky side and really had a way about her of making people smile.

Those of you who have read here for a while know that we do a family dinner once a week in the warmer months and frequently during the "off" season too.  For the large amount of family we have locally, our entire family put together is about double the size so today, start to finish, will be spent with almost the entire clan saying goodbye as well as celebrating the well-lived life of our wonderful Grandma Dot.

Tomorrow I'll still be off on "family time" as some of us are heading up to State College to cheer on our Nittany Lions at the first night game of the season so I'll see you back here next week.

Don't forget to enter here for a chance to win a $300 Nordstrom gift card.  Good luck!
