Friday's Feature

I truly can't say enough thank you's for all your kind words and messages yesterday - they really did put a smile on my face.  I'm still off on family time but already had this post ready to go so it's looking like another "football friday" around here and I'm happy to share these memories.

I'm currently en route to State College with my parents and the pups for a nice weekend of family, friends, football and fun.  After this week it will be nice to unwind at our fall getaway spot.  I wanted to come early to help with the tailgate prep and Derek and some of our friends will join us tonight to kick off the weekend.  Penn State has the night game tomorrow night and the weather is suppose to be perfect.

Feature:

Since tomorrow is our first tailgate of the 2015 season, I thought I'd take a little look back at my favorite tailgates from the past few seasons.  There really is few greater excitements than that of waking up on game day and heading off to tailgate.

 - 2014 -
We got in fewer tailgates and games than usual last year because of wedding season but the ones we did get in made up for it - quality over quantity.

 - 2013 -
We had two huge tailgates this year - the first one my just be my favorite ever.  I had just gotten engaged to my very best friend the night before, we'd been up all night celebrating and continued the celebrations at the tailgate.  The Penn State football team added the icing to our perfect cake by winning the night game in four overtimes.  Talk about excitement.

My other favorite this year was when the 1973 team was recognized on the field at half time.  Steve, my stepdad used to be a trainer at Penn State so there he is on the big board below waving his hat.  We had a bunch of family at the tailgate that day.

- 2012 -

The fall after I finished college I was still living in a different part of PA finishing my internship so this was my first season "back home" and more available for tailgates.  I love these pictures because we look like such babies back then

Cheers to the 2015 season and the new tailgating memories to come.

Other Happenings:

+ Speaking of Penn State, we got our first win last week against Buffalo at our first home game which happened to pour rain the whole time.  My poor parents, aunt and uncle were soaked and called it a day at half time. 1-1 going into this weekend.

+ I've officially got fall fever as we got the house decorated for fall this week and added our flowers/decor out front.  I'm ready for boots and scarves but I do hope it's a long fall - I'm ready for COOL weather, not COLD weather.

+ Lastly, since I'm off today, a question for all of YOU.  Are there any blog topics you'd like me to cover soon? Types of posts you like best?  Share below…

  20. I love reminiscing about fun times, and football season definitely brings back a lot of fun memories! That's so exciting that your step dad was a trainer for Penn State, and that he was a part of the festivities celebrating that team!
