Painting With a Twist

I'm very happy to be joining in with two of my favorite blogger ladies Jenn and Jessi on their new "What's Hap-pinning" linkup.  Originally I was so excited to share some day dreamin' pins that I've been lusting after but that can wait because I realized I hadn't shared this fun little adventure yet…

Derek and I had a little date night at Painting with a Twist back in mid-July.  We decided pretty last minute and wanted to go with some friends but when it fell through decided to still go.  We stopped by Wawa and stocked up on some treats to fill our cooler, packed our wine and headed off.

There was just one other couple at first and then a group of girls came late to join in - I was so thankful for them because it gave me time to fix my terrible looking background and properly catch up, ha!

This was such a fun night out - definitely not as easy as all those pictures of people holding up their paintings look but a fun night.  Now we have our two, far from perfect, paintings to hang in our basement by the bar.  We have yet to hang them but we most definitely will be doing it soon - makes a good conversation piece.

How perfect are the rules?! My kind of place.

Blank slates, our first pours and a personalized spot for the two of us.

Trying to keep up - I am so NOT a painter - But I had fun trying to be.  The wine glass helped.

Not afraid to try new things the husband was flying along (always ahead of me) and doing great.

I'm happy to say that I luckily walked out with no paint on me.

We finished - the final products! Ready to be hung at the Sotherden Saloon.

The many stages - mainly to prove to my parents that I actually DID paint it myself.

** My dress from the night is from Loft, available here in all sizes AND 50% off.  If you're short like me and need to get your maxi dresses hemmed - that's when your lucky enough to get a matching headband.  My dress also conveniently matches the linkup colors well :) **

  2. Your paintings turned out so well! They'll look great down in your basement by your bar. These things always stress me out because my artistic skill is about zero... I think that's why they encourage the wine ;)
