Own It {August Linkup}

Welcome back for another Own It linkup. Own anything. Have a confession session. Share the little crazy things about you

Last month I had a theme and owned that I usually like/need a theme but today is just a random mess of everything

In the Moment
I've grown to be a very "in the moment" person with a few scenarios.  If I'm traveling and on vacation - then I start planning the next one and need it soon.  If I'm home for the weekend then I want to try to be home as many weekends as I can.  If I'm at the lake then I need to go back next weekend.

Repeat Buyer
I'm a repeat buyer - 100%.  If I like something like a pair of jeans - I HAVE to have two.  If I like a shirt - I NEED it in a few colors.  I've been breaking this habit {a lot lately} because if I get the item in multiples then a bit later I think, "Did I really need all those" BUT if I don't get repeats then I always end up wishing I had another color, version, etc. down the road - happens every time.

I haven't used my gym membership all summer long
I can't remember the last time I went to the gym - I think it was in late spring.  I just can't stand being cooped up in the gym on the treadmill when it's so nice out - or too hot to be out.  I've still kept up working out almost everyday just in different ways outside and in our home.  When fall starts back up, I'll get back into it - this cycle repeats every year.

I wish I could have ten weddings… sometimes.
All with the same groom, obviously! I always used to say I need about ten weddings to get in all the color schemes, all the dresses, all the etc.. There are too many options.  {That said I LOVED all my choices for mine and can't believe we're just about a week away from that day a year ago!}

Grocery Bagging
I really dislike having my groceries bagged for me.  There I said it - I don't like the extra help.  I have my reusable bags and like to fill them so they are easy to unload at home - I don't like the nail polish remover in with the fruit {yes, that happened last time they were bagged for me}.  On occasion I've gotten in a slightly longer line just so I can bag myself

I hate forgetting my reusable bags
I went through a phase a few months ago when every week I'd get to the store and realize the bags were still in my car as I was shopping and get quite frustrated.  Those bags fit so much more than the paper/plastic ones at the store and the food is less likely to fall all over the car as well as much easier to carry into the house with fewer trips.

Damp Hands
I need my hands fully dry after washing - I'll use as many paper towels or minutes under the hand dryer as it takes - I hate when they aren't completely dry.

College Laundry
I would fly home from Providence every 6 weeks-ish to visit for the long weekend {we didn't have classes on Friday so I could leave in the afternoon on Thursdays after classes} and on a few occasions I would fill my suitcase with all my dirty clothes to get them washed at home.
*I now enjoy doing laundry 4 years later!

Ok, your turn! Linkup below.  If you missed out today, the linkup runs through Saturday so join in.

Thanks to everyone who has participated all spring and summer long!  Now that we are about to enter into fall I think I'm going to take a little break for the next few months - it's been fun!

  1. I forgot about this link up! I will have to write it in my planner next time so I can join whenever you decide to start it back up!
I'm a repeat buyer for jeans and I have a favorite pair at Gap that fits me perfectly so I own a few pairs. I can't help not own a few of something that I love so much haha!

  3. I buy multiples too!! Why not when it's a good thing that fits right!! You've got the right idea! :)

  4. I'm the same way with buying multiples of clothes! I guess if I think a shirt is that cute I want to have multiple options of it. I also hate the way people bag groceries too! I even group my groceries together for how I want them bagged and random things still are bagged inappropriately. Maybe they need a class or something.

  5. I don't blame you on the not using your gym membership. I have a gym at the apartment (super close to me) and I think the last time I used it was in May or June...oops. It's just hard to make myself want to get in gym clothes, get out in the heat, sweat, then come home and peel the clothes off of myself haha. I've recently started doing yoga videos in the apartment and it's so much nicer! I have quite a few repeat clothes, as well. I live in New York & company sweaters for work and h&m jeans in the winter...all the same just different colors. Haha

  6. the only time i even consider a gym membership is when it's freeeezing here and i can't run outside! i definitely wouldn't use it in the summer either. and i'm right there with you on college laundry :P

  7. I can't stand the way people at the store bag groceries. I put them on the conveyor belt the way I want them bagged and they still don't get it. Maybe I should consider reusable bags!

  8. I think that buying multiples of something is fine, and something that so many people do. I go to the gym year-round, but it is definitely hard to go when it's a gorgeous day outside. Sometimes I just take a walk along the lake front instead. :-) Hope that you are having a great week too!!

  9. I'm the same way about traveling, it's so much better to have the next trip planned so you have something to look forward to once you get back from your current trip! And YES to more weddings, as much as I loved mine there are so many things I would like to do now. Wish Pinterest had been around for mine :-P

  10. I'm such a repeat buyer, too! If I love it, I'm going to buy it in multiple colors and over and over again until they stop making that particular item. Creature of habit, right?

  11. I'm such a repeat buyer! I have like 3 of the exact same pair of jeans. I figure a good pair of jeans is hard to find so might as well stick with what you know works!

  12. I'm a repeat buying for sure. I have many a shirt or pair of jeans in the same style, but different color. My husband HATES having someone bag the groceries, too. He has his own process and sometimes gets frustrated with me when I'm in a rush, haha. My hands have to be dry and I HAVE to put lotion on them immediately after washing them. I hate dry, un-lotioned hands.

  13. I hate forgetting my reusable bags because in Seattle you have to pay for grocery bags! Granted it's only 5 cents for paper but it's still annoying!

  14. Haha become a wedding planner and you can have 10 weddings and the best part is you don't have to pay for them!! xo, biana -BlovedBoston

  15. I am totally with you on the "in the moment" thing...everytime I am in a new city, I imagine living there and want to move, or I want have the same type of weekend at home as last. I totally repeat buy..then sometimes I feel like I have nothing new and exciting to wear, but I almost always go for the same things!

  18. I need to become a repeat buyer! I'll buy something I love and then somehow damage it and regret not having a backup. We bag our own groceries in reusable bags too - you can fit so much more in the bags and not need to make extra trips bringing them inside.

  19. Haha so many good things here…but college laundry. I'd wait 3 weeks before I would do laundry because that's usually when i'll go home for the weekend. I proudly say I never had to do laundry in the dorms!! :)

  21. I am SO with you on repeat buyer! Just did it with Jessica Simpson wedges! But if they are comfy, fit great and look great you need another pair(s)! I am also SO with you on bagging my own groceries! I hate when they put cold stuff with warm stuff and I have to search around for everything when putting them up at home. Love that!!! I forgot to do this linkup, but need to start putting it in my calendar to remind me to do it because I love it!!!

  22. Oh girl, I can't STAND for my hands to be damp after I wash them. I always have to use as many paper towels as it takes until they're totally dry!

  23. I am such a repeat buyer, too! If it ain't broke, don't fix it! ;)

  24. Haha the grocery bagging made me laugh! I'm always ready to jump in and bag when there's not a bagger. My sister and I used to fight over who got to do the bagging when we were kids lol

  25. Oooh I love this link up idea! Excited to participate!

  26. 100% with you on the repeat buyer thing. I do that ALL THE TIME. I have the same dress in three colors and the same sweater in 4 colors. I could go on but it would get embarrassing. lol Totally get that though. I'm so mad at myself for forgetting about this. I HAVE to remember to make a note of it for next month in my planner!

  27. I keep my reusable bags on a table next to my purse, but sometimes I still forget them! I prefer bagging myself, too, which is why I like self-checkout machines. Sometimes cashiers seem to be annoyed about having to fit more stuff into reusable bags.

  28. You're officially my spirit sister - I hate having my groceries bagged for me! I literally ask if I can do it myself, lol.
