Martha's Vineyard: Part Two

Friday morning we woke up to a drizzle as it rained pretty hard overnight.  Luckily for us this was our worst weather day and the drizzle was light enough to walk around in as it would start and stop.  We'd planned to bike into Edgartown to checkout the shops so instead of biking we just went into town.  The original Vineyard Vines, Murdick's Fudge, Wish You Were Here, Shirt Tales and some miscellaneous boutiques were some of our favorites that we stopped in.

We walked down North Water Street admiring the houses and then down the trail to the Edgartown Lighthouse.  We took a little break for Tatum to throw rocks into the water.  The rain totally stopped by lunch time and we had lunch outside at Seafood Shanty on the lower patio by the water.

Our hotel offered firetruck rides on an antique truck each afternoon and because of Covid it was one family at a time so essentially a private ride.  This was probably Tatum's highlight of the trip, he got to ring the bell, they put the siren in and he got to ride around property.

It was a little overcast but we headed to the beach for our first beach day of the week and enjoyed our first of many New England beaches of the trip.  The boys napped for a little bit after and I snuck over to the pool to do a little reading.

We took the water taxi into Edgartown for dinner - it was neat seeing the boats on the water and a fun/safe way to get into town.  We wanted to eat at The Atlantic right on the water and it was about an hour and a half wait so we put our name in right away then walked around town.

This was probably our favorite dinner of the trip - everything was so good.  Steak, lobster mac n cheese, clam chowder, etc. and we lucked out with a table right on the dock watching the boats.  We finished the night off with Mad Martha's ice cream.

  1. What a beautiful place! We've never been to New England but it's definitely on my list. I'd love to go during the fall, of course! I'm glad y'all had a fun trip.
