Malibu

On our way up the coast we stopped at one of our California favorites - Malibu - for the afternoon. We enjoyed the leisurely drive, drove around to a few spots in the area then spent a little bit of time on the pier.

We enjoyed lunch at another favorite, Nobu, and while it was a good meal I was definitely missing some of my raw bar favorites.

I am obsessed with any sort of murder/scandal case that takes over the news and get so drawn in.  I was so into the OJ Simpson case when the show was on recently and Brentwood was right on our way to the hotels so guiltily I asked Derek to drive by OJ's old house sight (it's since been knocked down) and Nicole's old condo to see.  We also popped into the Brentwood Country Mart for a little shopping.

We stayed the rest of our trip at another one of our favorites, The Beverly Hills Hotel.  We took a little time to settle in before heading to the pool until early into the evening.

We usually have to end our pool days late afternoon to get ready for evening but we were just eating at the hotel and having such a late pool day was quite relaxing. 

We quickly got ready and walked downstairs to the Polo Lounge for a delicious dinner.  They make my favorite salad, the McCarthy salad (we always recreate it at home!) and I had a delicious pink mocktail while Derek went with a special for the evening.
