Cinco de Mayo: We kicked off the weekend a little early with some Mexican food at home to celebrate the holiday - all the Mexican places around here are always packed today so we did some Mexican dip, guac and salsa with cocktails followed by make your own soft tacos - one of my favorite meals. Unfortunately we did the celebrating inside because the weather was less than perfect.
Girls Trip: Derek was headed out of town for a bachelor party so I took Friday night to catch up from being away the week before and my parents treated me to dinner before heading out of town. After catching up on some extra sleep, Stella and I both headed off to visit one of my best friend's for the night in New Jersey. The weather was finally starting to clear when I arrived so the girls were able to have a spring cocktail outside while the dogs played. We headed out to a favorite restaurant then finished the night up with drinks - it's always good to be reunited.
Mother's Day: My favorite - I always love any excuse to celebrate my mom - she's my best friend and just the best! We had a BBQ with some very close family friends and it's always great when the whole group can get together - we even managed a big group photo (after a few people had already left - but it's better than nothing)! The food was all delicious, the company was great and it was a perfect way to end out the weekend.
Sweet Stella also treated me to some flowers that looked like her since let's face it - we treat her like she's our child - it was a great surprise.
Cheers to a new week! xx
