{O N E} Favorite Looks This Week
I am such a sucker for a beauty pageant - I love them so I surely watched Miss USA on my laptop last Sunday - well I didn't quite make it to the end, I fell asleep before they crowned Miss Oklahoma as Miss USA but she had the most beautiful dress as did the Reigning Miss USA. While were talking dresses - I don't think I could pull off a long sleeve wedding gown, but Nikki Hilton looked like a princess at her London wedding last week.

Counting on the trend of "we love dips" in the spring I tried out a hot beer cheese dip but in the summer, of course anything a little bit cooler is better so I tried a cold beer cheese dip and it's equally delicious but so much better for summer.
Ingredients:
two 8 ounce blocks of cream cheese
1/4 cup creamy ranch dressing
two cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup beer
3/4 cup bacon bits
Directions:
+ Mix cream cheese and ranch dressing using a hand mixer until smooth and creamy
+ Mix in your favorite beer until combined
+ Fold in shredded cheese
+ Store dip in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving
+ Serve with fritos, tortillas, chips, pretzels or crackers
Originally I wasn't planning on shopping the sale - at all. I tried my hardest to look the other way but I figured why not spend a little to save a little, ha! I'm completely done buying for summer - I love what's in my closet and look forward to using it for the next two or so months but for purchasing - it's all about fall - slowly.
I like to stick to tops and dresses because I know for the most part how they fit (I'm sure I'll be walking into Nordstrom next week with an armful of returns) so for tops and tunics - I fell in love with plaid last year so this top was a must. For tunics it was these two (one and two) and I couldn't leave out a couple shorter sleeve tops that will be good for early fall like this one and this one. I couldn't love the colors in this tie blouse more. This tank is perfect for the transition from summer to fall.
I tried to stay away from shoes because I'm a big "try on" girl but I couldn't resist at least taking a try with these leopard heels and these Sperry rain/snow boots.
On the jewelry front, how about these studs that have everyone talking and a more subtle piece from my girl, Kendra.
With dresses, navy is the perfect summer to fall color and you can't beat the price. This dress would certainly brighten things up. I feel like red is a good statement color for fall and for less than $30, this would be a perfect pick.

I'm obsessing over these three summer looks - I would love to have each of these outfits.

Let's face it - who doesn't get sucked in by the Bachelor franchise? I came across this article this week about where the bachelors are now, how long they were with who they picked and some other details like that. I've watched the show off and on since the beginning so it was a fun read. You can read all about it here.
I love all of your Friday Favorites! I watch every single beauty pageant, I'm obsessed! lol Those outfit picks are so cute too!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend! :)
I hope you get everything that you wanted off of your Nordstrom list! Things will be selling out fast if they haven't already. Im off to read that article about the Bachelor now!
ReplyDeleteHave a great Friday and a fantastic weekend!!
I'm totally loving that red dress and leopard heels from Nordstrom! Both of those items together make for a very classy look! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteNikk's dress is gorgeous. Kind of the look I wanted at first when I was looking at dresses. Too bad no one makes them expect per person, sadz.
ReplyDeleteI snapped up some Kate and Kendra goodies this morning. The price tag is so much nicer with the sale, right? Hope you get some goodies!
Happy Friday!
a few things: 1) I love a long sleeve wedding dress with a low back! #todiefor 2) that white romper is also to die for! 3) and my word, I need to try that dip!

Darn you for linking those things up! ;) I was going to try to skip it, too, but I couldn't resist that tunic and a couple of plaid shirts for fall!
ReplyDeleteI saw Nicky Hilton's wedding dress a couple of days ago and love it! It looks so classic and tasteful.....the exact opposite of her sister Paris. I don't know if I could pull off a long sleeve gown but if I had gotten married during a cold month, I might have tried one on just to say I did! Have a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteI completely missed Miss USA.. but seriously that pink dress is amazing it looks like a Barbie dress!
ReplyDeleteLove the Miss USA pageants! I would watch them all the time! I totally agree about Navy being a great transition color, but I think navy is a great color year round and is definitely one of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteLove the bright pink ball gown dress. Nicky Hilton's wedding dress reminds me of my mom's wedding dress. Not my style, but gorgeous. Love #s 1 and 2 in those summer outfit pins too. I'm staying far away from the Nordstrom on Michigan avenue as well as their website. I don't need or want to get sucked in... haha. Have a wonderful weekend! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love that middle summer look - I actually modeled last month's outfit of the month after it. I am trying so hard not to shop this Nordstorm sale, but I keep seeing so many amazing things all over my favorite blogs!!
ReplyDeleteI love watching pageants and seeing what outfits the girls pick out! I hate that the big ones are on work nights - I never make it long enough to see the end lol Love the new shoes you picked out - dying over the Sperry ones. I would LOVE a pair like that but there's no need for them in FL lol
ReplyDeleteCan we just talk about those popsicle things for a minute? Adorable. The Nordstrom sale is hard to resist! It doesn't help when every blogger is talking about it too. lol. Hope you have a good weekend girl!!
ReplyDeleteThe pageant outfits were gorgeous, right?? Loved your sale picks!! ANd I canNOT wait ot read that article on the bachelor peeps. I'm sorta obsessed with them.
ReplyDeleteHave the best wknd!
oh my gosh thats nikki hilton?! she looks amazing. i am staying strong on the nordstrom sale!
ReplyDeleteMiss Oklahoma's dress made quite the statement, so bright and gorgeous. I hate when they play it safe. I like the pins you shared :)
ReplyDeleteHoly cow that recipe looks insanely delicious! Dinner maybe haha!? Yes - Nicki is perfection at her wedding. Who knew lace could be so sexy! She's stunning! Happy weekend, girl.
ReplyDeleteIf I didn't have giant feet I would get those leopard heels in a heartbeat! I wanted a long sleeve wedding gown...but they really are hard to pull off I think. Everyone tells you you'll go in wanting something and your mind will change. And people also tell you you're probably gonna go strapless. I was DEAD SET against strapless and I wanted sleeves...of course all the sleeved ones looked ridiculous and I fell in love with a strapless gown! (I'm sure you know these things from experience!)
ReplyDeleteI'm going to read that article now. I feel like you always have the best recipes because that one that you posted about sounds so dang good!!! Yum!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, Nikki Hilton definitely looked like a princess in her wedding gown, Oh and thanks for sharing that recipe with us, I am definitely going to try it soon.
