It's been a little while since we had any home projects going on. Earlier in July we painted most of the house (other than the bedrooms which we'll do over the winter to break it up) and updated a few light fixtures.
This gave us the push we needed to finish any extra decor items, etc. and really complete things.
In addition to painting, we wallpapered a few rooms too. My favorite print is in my office - I love how it came out and the pattern has navy/blues in it which ties to a couple other rooms in the house that we painted different shades of blue.
My favorite room may be the smallest - the powder room. In addition to the wallpaper print I was able to find some touches that matched really well so the room came together easily. We have a new light fixture so are just working on switching out the hardware on the sink and toilet paper holder.
The last of the wallpapered rooms (for now) is the living room - I wanted to do this one wallpapered instead of the dining room because in the winter months I spend a good amount of time sitting in here. We were able to keep all the same pillows, rugs, decorations and some wall hangings then just added a few extra.
It took us a while to settle on this shade of navy but I'm glad we did - for now we're using the wall hangings that were in the living room and eventually we'll change those out. Our conservatory has a lighter shade of blue so this room really ties well together with that and the living room in between.

Tatum's Nursery
I meant to share this post when he was about two months old and since he'll be four months on Friday, I'm only a little bit late - better late than never is what I keep telling myself these days! When we heard "boy" I immediately knew I'd go navy blue instead of light blue. I wanted to keep the room simple and at first it was just navy/white - that the red/teal got incorporated was sort of on accident but it just worked out that many items matched.
His furniture is a mix of items from Pottery Barn Kids - I tried to keep in mind pieces that could transition into a big boy room too. We have a fairly big storage room downstairs so anything like his pack n play, stroller attachments, etc. we keep down there to keep the cluttering out. He has a few toys in the bins and I'm sure when he can play he'll have a few more but for now we mostly play downstairs in the playroom (will share that soon!)
For now I love keeping it clean and "perfect" - I know the days will come soon where he can pull things off the shelves and they'll be everywhere - and that's okay! I usually tidy it up each morning to be clean for the day.
In addition to the monogram on the wall, he has a bunch of personalized items in his room - I couldn't help myself. I take his weekly picture every Monday and keep up with his blocks based on the week. The "Tatum" train is one of my favorite items we have and the two little lambs are from flower arrangements at my baby shower... as is the stuff lab dog, from my mom. The bins at the bottle keep socks and burp clothes.

Two of guestbooks have a little suite attached so we figured we'd take advantage of the space and use for the nursery. The little shelf to the side will be great for once Tatum actually plays more and his anywhere chair I'm sure will be moved downstairs eventually but for now we use it for his monthly photos.
He has his own bathroom so we just started doing his baths up there with his little bathtub in the big tub - under the sink I store extra wipes, soaps, extra diaper bag items and such.
His second set of bookshelves is more storage - the bottom bins have a few toys, books and stuff (literally), a stack of blankets that we're always using, a few wooden pieces and two accent lamps.

House Tour: Sneak Peek
In the coming weeks I'll definitely share posts by rooms with the details for items linked but for today, I quickly snapped a few photos of a little peek inside to a few of our rooms...
The kitchen is one of my favorite rooms - we spend a lot of time in there and are more fans of eating at the counter as opposed to the table. While I spent most of my time on the couch during the first trimester I had plenty of time to pick out all my visions so once we were in it wasn't too hard to set up.
Our family room is cozy and I'm looking forward to getting more use out of it come fall/winter - right now we spend as much time as we can outside!
The dining room was suppose to be one of the last rooms done but with most of the items in it coming from the old house it just took a few new touched to finish it up.
This is another room that wasn't suppose to be done for a while but it's quickly become one of my favorites. I can definitely see myself enjoying wine and reading in here post baby. Our conservatory (the room adjoining to it) has a navy theme so I tried to tie that into this room with the pillows and a few other touches which then leads in to our other more neutral rooms.
A work in progress but the conservatory is our "fun room" - it's filled with navy and we have a wall with Penn State hangings and figure it will be our football spot.
A place we've enjoyed as much as we can this summer - the deck! It stays pretty hot out there until dinner time though because of how the sun hits so we're looking forward to getting more time out there this fall.
And of course - Stella's little space. We have a gate that we can just prop on the outside if we want to keep her in there or if not she can just come and go - her bed/toy box are in the family room so she does prefer to spend more time out there where we are.
Recently we've been focused on working in the nursery and playroom of course, we've picked out everything for each and are hoping to finish up a lot of them by Labor Day. Last night we were in our "navy" guest room getting some wall hangings up from Etsy so once September starts things should be dying down around here.
More to come shortly including room by room reveals...
Have a good weekend! xx

Moved!
Happy Wednesday! It's been a whirlwind of a week over here - we closed on our new house last Thursday and started moving some things over right away, the movers came on Friday, deliveries on Saturday, home appointments on Monday and unpacking in between. We've come along way but it still feels like the to do list is never ending. The box piles are slowly dwindling and hopefully by this weekend they will be gone.
Moving is tiring and moving while pregnant is exhausting! A few times during the big move days I'd find somewhere to hide and take a break! Thankfully my mom made all the beds in the house for our first night, if not we'd have probably fallen asleep anywhere.
I'll be sure to share a peek into the house and get back into my normal blogging routine soon - it's been a busy few days and I see that pattern continuing throughout the week. Looking forward to settling in and getting the unpacking done!
There might still be boxes, but at least they are stacked neatly!
It's taken her a little while but once Stella saw our bed ("her" bed) she started warming up to the place - I'm thinking she feels at home now.
Thanks for stopping by! xx

May House Update
The countdown is on - not too much longer until we are in our new home! Our townhouse is filled with boxes, piles for good will, new packages - it's tough living in the clutter this last little bit but almost there. The holiday weekend will mark our last weekend of packing, finally!
The final touches have been going on this month and will continue the next few days. We had a walkthrough yesterday and finally it's looking less construction site and more house like.
Most recently our deck was put in - we spend so much time out on our current deck, we can't wait to get use out of this one. The table and chairs to match our couch set was recently on sale so we picked it up to add on.
More on the outside - we finally have some grass out front, seed in the back and our walkway/driveway are finished up.
Our appliances have been installed - just waiting for the most important one, the wine fridge - I'll look forward to using that again come this fall!
Carpet has been installed in the bedrooms and such. Yes, Stella can be spotted in many of the photos - we bring her a lot in hopes that she'll adjust quicker to realizing it's her new home - The boxes scattered all around our house noticeably confuse her.
Our fireplace has been installed and final touches like adding pillars are finished up. After foregoing a fireplace in our townhouse we might be most looking forward to this aspect.

House Inspiration: Conservatory
Our current house (and new!) is all/will be all neutrals - cream, tan, brown. Our basement now has some touches of navy and I'm going to continue that more so into the new house in a few rooms - one is the conservatory. This extra room was fun to plan for...
I knew I wanted navy couches and a free standing bar. We'll add a few ottomans for other seating and a runner to pull out the navy. We can use our current bar stools and plants as well as some navy vases we have for decor and build from there.
ottomans - pier one
rug - ballard designs
bar - pottery bar
blue/white jugs - williams sonoma
Have a good day! xx
