Love these ideas--especially the framed hearts! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of keeping within the traditional gifts...when possible. As a funny, but also very practical gift, my mom gave my brother and sister in law a bunch of paper products on their anniversary...paper plates, napkins, straws...those types of things. It was a cute idea and perfect since they were able to use them for a big cook out for all our family.
ReplyDeleteWe kind of did traditional gifts for our one year but we also did bigger gifts--he wrote me a letter so he said that counted as paper and I gave him a hat with cotton and I told him maybe there are some papers made with cotton??? Haha! I love the date jar idea. I may have to make that as a just because gift sometime!

Great ideas! I made Drew a met, married, live frame a few years ago for our anniversary. It's so fun! I like doing the yearly gift like wood, paper, etc. it adds a little excitement.
ReplyDeleteThose are all thoughtful and creative ideas! Thanks for sharing. :-) For our first anniversary, Chris had our Match.com profiles framed. It's hanging in the hallway and it's fun to see people look at it. After that non-traditional gifts have taken the place of traditional gifts. :-)
ReplyDeleteSome of the traditional wedding gifts are just so boring, that we've found it difficult to actually give gifts that fit into them. Although I did manage to get the husband an iPad holder for his anniversary gift this year that's made out of wood, so maybe I'm doing better than I thought! I definitely think that y'all did a great job with the paper plane tickets!
ReplyDeleteThese are all so great!! We went the same route and did paper tickets for our first anniversary with a nice dinner out - i think we agreed that we want to take trips for our anniversary instead of gifts...but we'll see how long we keep that up lol! xo, Biana
ReplyDeleteLove these ideas - my favorites are definitely the sports tickets or the plane tickets. Travel is definitely our favorite past-time. We typically don't do anniversary gifts, and like you guys we like to travel somewhere new to celebrate <3

Love all of these ideas! The tickets to an event are such a great gift because you get a date night out if it too :) <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes
ReplyDeletegreat ideas - super creative girl! i love the tickets to just about anything - super fun :)

We are in 5 months... Thanks for sharing these great ideas! I like the date jar!!! That would be so fun! Or the calendar with maybe a photo from each month married leading up to the 12th..

These are all such great ideas! I love the met, married, live print!
ReplyDeleteI love the wedding print canvas and the we met, we married, we live one too, but ours would be the same location every time so it wouldn't really be all that special for us. Although something that kind of relates to paper is that we take the same photo every year on our wedding anniversary and then print it out to go on our photo wall.

Super cute!! Love the game tickets or trip tickets idea for something really special!
ReplyDeleteWe did traditional first year gifts, we bought another Everhart painting to add to our collection and I LOVE IT! Such a great memory of our first year of marriage. We did not do the traditional second gift, cotton, just enjoyed each others company and exchanged cards.
ReplyDeleteThe last 2 years, we were spending a lot of money around our anniversary (1st year a mini trip followed by vacation and 2nd year was buying a house) so we have been trying to do traditional gifts but under a budget - oh man that is super difficult! Neither of us are all that great at giving surprise gifts so we'll see if 3rd year is a charm (leather - no budget ;))
ReplyDeleteI got my hubby tickets to our favorite hockey teams home opener. He got me this amazing book that he filled out all about me/us - we went out for dinner and he gave me a rose made out of paper. It was perfect!
ReplyDeleteThe date jar and Met, married, live wall print are such awesome and unique ideas!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of traditional anniversary gifts.. but I doubt we'll do them. I'm not waiting until 60 years for more diamonds!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteThese are great gifts! I love the idea of doing a small traditional gift - or a big one like plane tickets :)
ReplyDeleteLove these ideas! For our first anniversary my hubs gave me a framed print of one of my favorite paintings - The Kiss by Gustav Klimt. I couldn't decide if I was more impressed by the fact that he remembered my favorite painting, or the fact that he took care to find out what the traditional gift was for a first anniversary!
ReplyDeleteI think the date night jar is such a cute and great idea!! Helps you stay guessing about date night instead of always sticking to the movie and dinner classic or something of the sort. - Svetlana @Life With a Side of Wine
ReplyDeleteLots of great ideas here! I agree with you - paper was not difficult for us last year. We went the route of our plane tickets to Vegas as our gift to each other. I found this year - cotton - way more difficult! I ended up getting Ryan a monogrammed handkerchief, and he totally went off the theme and got me a second diamond band to go with my engagement/wedding rings ... but hey, I'm not complaining. :)
ReplyDeleteWe travel to celebrate as well even if it's just a lil weekend get away via car. Those heart frames are so stinkin cute!!! Happy Friday eve!!!
ReplyDeleteWe plan on doing the traditional gifts as much as possible, but still doing something memorable together, like a trip or a splurge for date night. You have great ideas here!
ReplyDeleteWhat cute ideas! I love the date night sticks or better yet, TICKETS!

We did both a traditional and non-traditional gift and I loved incorporating paper into our gift giving! I have a similar post coming up as well! :) Xo, Stephanie
ReplyDeleteI love the event idea...going somewhere together. Plane tickets or a concert. Love it!
