Mother's Day & Other Weekend Scenes

Happy Monday!  We had a very low key Mother's Day and weekend and it was all wonderful and relaxing.  Yesterday the weather was awful - cold and rainy but it made for a relaxing day.  I started the day off by sleeping in with Tatum and then I went to the gym while the boys made brunch and got ready for the day - I came home to cards, crafts, flowers and a pretty Julie Vos bracelet waiting for me - along with mimosas for Derek and I!  After sipping on our mimosas and watching Tatum play, our brunch was ready - quiche and homemade cinnamon rolls!

The rest of the afternoon was spent being lazy!  I enjoyed some time on the couch catching up on TV, enjoying a glass of rose and doing a little reading too.

Late afternoon my family came over to celebrate with a barbecue - the weather was so bad we even had the fireplace on!  We hung out for a bit and snacked on some appetizers and enjoyed being together.

Derek grilled a delicious meal of chicken, steak and a bunch of sides including a potato bar - it was all so good!  Derek and Tatum were so kind all day making sure I was having a good day and my parents and brother even brought me over cards and gifts - it was so nice! Of course, we love any excuse to celebrate my wonderful mom!

After dinner we spent a little more time relaxing together and once everyone left Derek put Tatum to bed and I enjoyed some more couch time in my pajamas - a perfect low key Mother's Day!

We did a few things that I had wanted to on Saturday as well since the weather was perfect - We started the day with a family walk which was something I was really wanting for Mother's Day and when we got back we got our deck all setup for summer... Even though it's rained since.

Tatum had a birthday party in the afternoon with tons of animals and he was in heaven watching them all and even took his first pony ride!

Saturday evening we had friends over for a casual BBQ of hamburgers, hot dogs and some delicious pasta salad and coleslaw - a fun way to add to Mother's Day weekend.
