This & That

Happy Wednesday!

We didn't have a fireplace in our old house and now that the weather has finally changed we have been loving using it - it makes things so much more cozy.

Speaking of cozy - I love our cuddle sessions.  My favorite time of the day (besides bedtime, ha!) is when Tatum and I get up after his early morning feeding - our new routine is to always take a little time to cuddle on the couch before starting the day.

We managed to all three get out the door, dressed for dinner and on time (on a week night!) to celebrate Derek's birthday with the family - plus it was Tatum's first dinner out!

Dinners and happy hours are hit or miss depending on the day - the fact that we had snacks out for happy hour was a huge win.  I love hosting, preparing appetizers and dinners so on the days that I find time to do it now, it's a real treat.

Tatum's first teal box came in the mail - Mommy was so proud to find this sweet gift.

Stella or "sister" as we've started calling her is never far from brother's side.  They are the cutest together.

Tatum made his first visit to the office before he was one month old - just like his Mommy and Uncle did.  I look forward to watching him grow up playing around the office - when I was little getting to go was my favorite.

Have a good day! xx

Our Little Family

We just got Tatum's newborn photos back - I'm obsessed and can't wait to share soon!  There was an opportunity for a mini session in our neighborhood the weekend after we brought him home - I thought having some casual photos of us... and Stella when he was just 5 days old would be special to have.  Once I signed us up I thought maybe I was crazy - I had to quickly find outfits then make sure we were all ready in time for our quick session.  Some how we made it, color coordinated, there were no tears and Stella was loving the camera.

I love how they came out and that we have a few casual family photos with him being a fresh newborn using our own neighborhood as the backdrop.

Weekend Scenes

Happy Monday! The weather around here on Friday was out of this world for November   Even though I still am working from home some days and we make a run to the office once a week - since it was so nice we walked to lunch with my mom and brother.

Once we got home from the office we tried to take advantage of the weather some more before it got dark and headed out for a family walk.

Last Friday night I fell asleep for a nap and woke up on the couch at 8pm - This Friday I managed to pour a glass of wine, make brownies and have a crockpot meal going for Mexican night so I was pretty pleased with the evening.

No night is complete without baby cuddles...

Saturday was Derek's birthday and our first with Tatum! Amongst Derek's other presents, Tatum got his dad some board games so we could have family game nights.

We haven't taken Tatum out much but we headed out to our favorite sports bar to catch the Penn State game which went on to be delayed for almost five hours.

Mood.  For the second week in a row Penn State lost in the final seconds and we were heartbroken to be knocked out of the playoffs and continuing to slip in the rankings.

We celebrated the big birthday before heading out to a neighborhood tracksuit costume party while Lovie and Poppy graciously babysat for the first time for us.

Sunday vibes - a rainy lazy Sunday paired with daylight savings made for a lazy day for everyone yesterday.

Tatum ready to watch the Cowboys game with his dad - he spent the early part of the day looking for his uncle in the crowd at the Eagles game and then switching gears to watch the Cowboys.

Have a good week! xx

Halloween & Fall Festivities

With it being Tatum's first holiday we were ready to celebrate.  Being two weeks old he had no clue, but we had fun!

Teaching Tatum about mail right away - I love sending/receiving cards so we got a few Halloween cards into the mail for some friends and family.  On Halloween Eve we had some family over to see Tatum in his costume and host for the first time in forever.  We kept it easy with appetizers/drinks then a lasagna from a local place with salad and meatball sandwiches.  I also made my favorite Christmas cookies with some Halloween sprinkles instead.

Tatum's looks for celebrating - we started getting festive on Monday morning and kept it going through last night - with a baby's first holiday, it's hard to skip the cuteness!

In addition to having dinner on Halloween Eve we also each "did" an activity with Tatum - Daddy and Tatum carved pumpkins for the front porch and Mommy and Tatum made cookies.

Yesterday the weather was perfect! We went on our first visit to Pumpkinland with the little guy and took advantage of being outside in the nice weather.

We kept things classic for his first halloween and went with a pumpkin for a costume.  We found Stella a little matching outfit, which surprisingly she didn't mind so we decided to get in on the theme too with some pumpkin t-shirts to make a little pumpkin patch of four.

My two sweet pumpkins...

Last night we handed out candy to the trick-or-treaters which I loved - at our old neighborhood we never got any.  Before the night was over we bundled Tatum up and took him trick-or-treating at a few neighbors houses.

A very fun first holiday! xx
