My husband is 30 years old - I can't believe it (I guess it's hard to believe since he's got a few years on me and that milestone won't be coming around for me for a bit longer). We've basically been celebrating since November started - his actual birthday was on the fourth. The two of us celebrated in Dallas, we had a nice family dinner on the big day and this past weekend we got a bunch of our friends together for the final celebration.
Celebrating on Derek's actual birthday. I eat ice cream cake once a year - on Derek's birthday. He's not a big cake person but LOVES ice cream cake. I usually look forward to the delicious frosting and things like that but hey, it's his day.
On Saturday we got a big bunch of our friends together to celebrate Derek in the city. We had a full house with about seven people staying over - which made for a fun after party and many other friends met us out. I did a terrible job at getting a group photo but 15/22 isn't that bad, right?! Of course I focused more on the ladies and less on grabbing some shots of Derek and the men - next time.
We started off the night at one of our favorite sports bars - Fox and Hound before heading over to Lucky Strike for a few hours of bowling, drinks and enjoying being together. (Bowling is Derek's favorite). It was a great night, a fun celebration and always such a fantastic time getting so many of our friends together.
While we had our group of friends in town we celebrated "Friendsgiving" as well. We've been trying to get this together for years and finally made it happen - more on that another day.
