The Hotel Hershey

We spent the holiday weekend enjoying a stay at The Hotel Hershey.  It's about an hour and a half from here and away from any shore traffic so we picked to meet friends halfway.  We stayed in the Woodside Cottages section located on the property but not in the main building so we had some extra space, our own patio and could park right out front of our room.  Since it is the chocolate capital we were each given a candy bar upon check in.

Derek and I arrived on Friday night and they were meeting us on Saturday so once we got settled in we explored the property, before having dinner al fresco at one of the property's restaurants - Harvest.  We shared some delicious appetizers - mussels and potato skins - and highly enjoyed our main courses as well.

We took advantage of the patio & rocking chairs as much as we could during our stay so we finished off our night out there.

Saturday morning we had some time to kill before our friends arrived so we took advantage of one of the walking trails and the sports complex including tennis and basketball.

Once the rest of our group got there we chatted on the patio while they got settled then it was off to the pool for the rest of the day.  Lunch, cocktails, sunbathing, pool floating and a few rides down the slide rounded out the day.

After getting ready and exploring the gardens we were off to try a second of their restaurants - Trevi 5, al fresco again.  There was an outdoor lounge to be enjoyed as well as capping the night off on our patio - clearly a favorite.

For our last full day it was a little bit more of the same - getting in some exercise and tennis in the morning followed by pool and patio time.  We really lucked out with the weather this weekend and it was another nice sunny day.

We got ready for dinner early enough to head to the lounge before our final meal at The Circular.  The rain set in so we used our umbrellas to trek back to our room and spend the night on the patio - it worked out perfectly because we were fully under cover and got to listen to the rain plus get some cool air.

We all grabbed a little more pool time in Monday morning before going our separate ways.  After having a fairly busy May, it was the perfect relaxing & fun way to kick off the summer.

  13. I'm so excited that you posted this because Tim and I have been looking for a nearby place to go for a weekend before baby #2 arrives and I was checking Hotel Hershey out. Sounds pretty fabulous! Now I just need to get Tim on board! Did you hang out at the hotel the whole time? What's there to do in Hershey (besides Hershey Park, obviously)?
