Montecito, CA

Last week we spent the week out in California to end summer and celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary.  On Monday we flew into LAX and then drove about an hour and a half up to Montecito. This was our first time here and it's such a cute beach town with wonderful weather in the upper 70's.

We stayed at the Rosewood Miramar Beach which just opened back in the spring.  The property had old fashioned touches, was right on the beach and even had a train that passed through the property (which Tatum loved watching).

After a quick stop at In & Out and settling into our room we got to the family pool late in the afternoon for a little swimming.  There was also an adult pool which was a bit more crowded as a lot of kids went back to school last week.

We did dinner at the hotel that night at Caruso's which overlooked the beach.  After the long travel day, Tatum actually fell asleep at happy hour so we enjoyed dinner just the two of us.

The next morning we relaxed, went to Malibu Farm for breakfast, played around on the bocce ball court (which Tatum loved) and spent some time taking in the property.

We were on of the first one on the beach and settled in for the morning.  They had corn hole and a whole variety of beach toys for anyone to use which kept Tatum entertained for quite a while.

Tatum was ready for a nap so we switched over to the pool and had lunch while he slept then we spent the rest of the day there until mid afternoon.

The second part of our stay tomorrow...
