2018 Holiday Gift Guide

Happy Monday!  I can't believe it's Thanksgiving week - this week is going to fly by and then we're right into the heart of the holiday season.  I haven't ordered any gifts yet but I do have my lists and ideas together... which is more than I can say for myself last time at this year - it was hard with a newborn!

I love flipping through gift guides - and debated taking the time to do them this year since Tatum is on the go, free time is hard to find around here but I do love doing it.  While I don't have a lot on description for each guide below, things I picked were mostly things that my family has, wants or wants to give as gifts.

A few more things like stocking stuffers and our own family wish lists coming later this season but today its... for her, for him, for littles, for home... Happy shopping!

Friday Picks: Christmas Pajamas, Books & Toys

Happy Friday! I haven't done a Friday picks in a while but now that the holiday season is upon us, I thought I'd share some kids favorites - pajamas, toys and books for Christmas!  Last year we got a few toys and books for Tatum - looking back it was so unnecessary since he had no clue but I'm excited to pull them out again this year.  He basically lived in Christmas pajamas last year since he was a newborn so I've toned it down this year to only a few pairs for the season...

Pajamas:

We love pajamas around here!  If we don't need to be out of the house until after Tatum's morning nap, I usually just leave him in his pajamas to play so it makes nap easier and cozier.  I think I had about 10 pairs of Christmas pajamas last year (new mom problem) but have already stocked up on a few this year.. some for him and I to match!

Books:

We also got a handful of Christmas books last year too - I probably won't add any more this year and will continue adding when he enjoys reading a little bit more (now he just wants to hold the book and play with it).  Disney's Countdown to Christmas is my favorite - it's a story each day and last year each morning I'd read Tatum the story - I'm hoping to do that again this year, if he'll sit still!

Toys:

Christmas toys are such fun for the season especially since we can use them each year - we started his collection last year when my parents gifted him the little people nativity set.  He now loves little people so I can't wait for him to play for it.  New for him this year is the step2 Christmas tree which I think he'll love - we'll give it to him next weekend after Thanksgiving. I'd love to add some of the other items in future years but I think one new thing is enough for this year.

Have a good weekend! xx

Family Pictures

Around Tatum's first birthday we had some family pictures done (as we did last year and it was so cool to see him running around this year as opposed to being 4 days old and sleeping last year!)  We had great weather and I'm so happy with how they turned out.  Not only does this help out with Christmas cards but it really helps out with grandparents Christmas gifts and such!

A couple weeks ago we also did a full family session for my mom and those came out great - it's so special to have especially the picture of all of us and the dogs!

Weekend Scenes: Penn State vs. Wisconsin

Happy Monday!  We made our last trip to Happy Valley of the season - we're skipping the last home game since it's Thanksgiving weekend but hope to make a winter trip up in the new year.  It was a noon game which meant a shorter morning tailgate.  We heated some quiches, had a bagel bar, donuts and a few dips plus a bloody mary bar and some other drinks.

It was freezing!  There was a dusting of snow on the ground when we woke up and the wind was strong.  We managed to get a little table setup and some people tailgated from inside the car to keep warm.  Tatum was enjoying his morning nap when we got to the stadium so we left him in the car to stay warm and after bundling him up outside for a little bit we kept him in the car.

The game was a good one but still cold in the stadium, we watched for a bit and then Tatum and I kept warm under the heaters in the bathroom for a bit.  With a lead at half time we all decided to go back to the house for the second half and keep warm.  It was a nice win 22-10.

If Tatum wasn't with us we would have finished out the game but it was nice to lounge on the couches and watch the game while keeping warm.
