Chaddsford Winery

Sunday was abnormally cold, the winds were crazy and it was not the spring weekend day that I was hoping for.  With no plans and not the best weather we decided that it was the perfect day for a little wine tasting.  We alway go to wineries and tasting rooms when traveling but haven't taken advantage of a local one that we've been wanting to yet.

Chaddsford Winery is about a half hour from our house (we are always nearby the area to shop, eat, run errands and such) and the tasting doesn't take super long so it was a nice quick outing for us.  They offer a tour twice a day of the winery but we opted to just spend time in the tasting room.

We each tried seven wines - it should have been four whites, two reds and a rose but the staff was very accommodating since I don't particularly like red and Derek doesn't like white.  Since there was less reds to try, I just tried my favorite two a second time and since Derek would be skipping quite a few more with four white wines on the menu, they grabbed out some reds not usually on the menu for him.

We each picked a favorite - the pinot grigio for me and the pinot noir for him to bring home to serve at a happy hour that night.

There's a great outdoor setting so it would be fun to return over the summer and enjoy a bottle after doing the winery thing outside on the patio.

Thanks for stopping by.  Cheers! xx

Month in Review... March

Sunsets, happy hours, adding a new computer to the mix, cuddles with Stella and wine nights were some of the usual that went on this past month.    Date nights and a nice stay at my parents house completed the month as well.  Birthdays including my brother's and what would have been my Grandma's 90th were celebrated too.

With Mom and Steve I made a second weekend trip down to Florida to visit with old friends, take in some spring training and soak up the sun.   Celebrating Easter was a highlight.  We got our first taste of spring and I'm hoping it's here to stay.

Looking Ahead:
I can't believe we're already into April - this will be a quiet month for us and I'm quite looking forward to that and time at home.  We're heading out west later this month and also up to Penn State for the spring game.  I'm hoping that we'll be enjoying some spring like weather during the month as well.

Loving This Week...

Happy April Fools Day, everyone! I don't really have any tricks up my sleeve today, but I'm sure Derek will be out to get me! I can't believe it's April already, the first quarter of this year is already over and it seems to be just flying by.

Today's all about my recent favorite blue and white favorites.  I've always been a fan of and drawn to the blue/white combo.  (Maybe it's because of Penn State, maybe because the color scheme of our basement is navy and white).  This embroidered top started it all for me last week, after picking this up, I was high into this color scheme.  I'm a sucker for tops and the scallops on this top make it not so plain and I love the pattern on this one too.  I had originally thought of this dress in black but the blue is such a pretty version and great for spring - again, I love the embroidery.

I always gravitate to lighter colored earrings - since my hair is dark they pop better - light blue as well as white are the perfect options in my opinion. Comfortable shorts are a necessity for those hot days or when you just want to lounge - with the assortment of blues in these, they'd be easy to match to any top.  The size of this purse plus the color plus the tassel make it the perfect bag for spring.  Not to mention, this would go with just about any outfit combo, it's very versatile.

On the non blue/white front - I'm dying to pick up Lauren Conrad's new book, Celebrate - I did study event planning in college after all and love hosting.  In my Easter basket was this pineapple candle holder (The Easter Bunny got matching ones for both her an I) and it's the perfect touch to our kitchen.

Have a great weekend! Cheers! xx
