We spent a long weekend in Dallas last weekend (our fourth year going) and had fun enjoying our time there - we're hoping to make it back again before year's end.
Thursday night we got in just in time to grab dinner at our favorite place, Nick & Sam's, which is always delicious.
We hit the road early on Friday to make the drive down to Waco to visit Magnolia Market! Derek and I both love Chip, Joanna and the show so it was a fun visit for us - more on that tomorrow.
Once we got back to Dallas we stopped by Highland Park Village to do a little shopping and grab lunch at Mi Cocina. We spent the late afternoon exploring the Texas State Fair - our first time! Usually our Dallas visit falls after the fair but we wanted to take advantage of it this time - I mean, deep fried cookie dough? Delicious.
We went to a new to us restaurant, Saint Ann, downtown for dinner and not only did it have a nice vibe but it had great food too.
The Dallas Big.. definitely looking like tourists.
Another favorite that we always visit is Top Golf. We played a few games, watched football and split some appetizers to start off the day Saturday.
We passed by the old Cowboys Headquarters on the way to our next stop...
We've seen most of the attractions in Dallas on our previous visits so we were hoping for some fall events this time and after doing some searching at the hotel we saw there was an Octoberfest in Southlake which wasn't too far away.
I didn't think I'd be lounging by the pool in October but it was fairly warm by the afternoon time so we found ourselves relaxing on the rooftop at The Joule - like past years, we love this little boutique hotel.
We decided to run down and change for dinner then enjoy a drink back up at the rooftop bar as the sun was going down before dinner - Italian at Patrizio's.
On Sunday the game wasn't until 3:30 and even with going over to the stadium early, we still had some time to kill in the morning so we went over to the Dallas Arboretum to see the fall displays.
We had the best time at the game and saw a huge win - more on that later this week!
Such a fun trip! Can't wait to hear about your time in Waco and to see what you bought!
