Monday Thoughts

Happy Monday!  We're just getting back from a long weekend in Arizona and slowly trying to get into the swing of things today.

Currently Been Up To:
After a snow last week, we escaped to a very warm Arizona to relax and enjoy for the weekend.  I'm missing the desert already...

Last year in Sedona.

Currently Loving:
Daylight Savings!  I hated loosing the hour - last Sunday felt like there literally were not enough hours in the day but I am loving the extra sunlight - later walks with Stella, more hours to do things in the evenings, etc.  Now if it would just warm up enough to uncover our patio furniture.

Our patio might be small but it's one of my favorite parts of this house - we'll get a little more time to use it before the move.

Currently Excited About:
All the events coming up that go along with the warmer season.  As we get closer to our move date I get more and more excited about all things house and home decor.

Siding up and just waiting on the stone.

Currently Watching:
So sad that Summer House is over but other than that all the usuals - Scandal, Housewives and excited that The Catch is back.  Is anyone watching the new show, The Arrangement?? I'm intrigued so far.

My TV watching buddies.

Currently Wearing/Wanting:
I'm loving me some spring/summer shoes.  Now is the best time to stock up before they all sell out...

Have a good week! xx

Loving: Lilly Pulitzer (Under $100) + Gifts With Purchase

Happy Friday!  Lilly Pulitzer has some fun gifts with purchases going on this weekend - all bar themed which is perfect since patio cocktail season is coming up.  I usually browse favorites I have and am a little more likely to splurge when there's some fun gifts to go along with it.

I stuck with only accessories since there were too many new items that I liked (since they switch season to season, there's no guarantee there will be a cute fedora or glass set next season - it could be wine glasses and a fun scarf) but there are plenty of clothing items under $100 too including some of my favorites - this bonita cover up, this swing dress, this tank top and my number one summer favorite - the essie dresses & tops.

Happy shopping & Enjoy your weekend!  We're off to enjoy some warm weather today... xx

Snow Day

Yesterday we had our biggest snow day of the season despite that our closets are ready for spring, we've had many spring like days and we're taking off for some warmer weather soon.  We loved that it was "Winter Storm Stella" just like our little pup.  Does anyone else love watching all the weather reports for big storms like this???

As badly as I want the warm weather, I can't say that I hated the lazy day at home - we were both home with little to do - made grilled cheeses, hot chocolate and then some delicious soup for dinner.

While it was fun, I'm hoping this is it for the year... bring on the warm weather!  The laziness from yesterday is continuing into today, so just a couple quick pictures...

Keeping warm in pajamas and one of Derek's hats.

Have a good day! Stay warm! xx

Think Spring

We might be preparing for our biggest snow of the year so far around here - coming tomorrow - but daylight savings hit over the weekend, spring is days away and warm weather is on my mind.  It's hard to type this post while it's 20 degrees outside but hopefully this is our farewell to winter.

I love the cool mornings and warm afternoons, windows open, nights on the deck and all that is almost here.  Even though we lost the hour of sleep over the weekend, I do love the start of when it stays lighter out longer.  Derek was away this weekend and it was a little early but I went ahead and got our closets switched over for spring since hopefully that's coming soon.

A couple other little events that I'm looking forward to this season...

Easter Eve:
I love the spring holiday weekend - Derek usually gets home early on Good Friday, we go to church and a delicious brunch on Easter Sunday and my mom still has Easter baskets ready for us! (Of course we make a basket for Stella too).  Since we've been married we started hosting an Easter Eve dinner to make more out of the weekend and it's such fun to do - the same menu always - cheese plates and such for appetizers, spiraled ham and all the sides, some sort of spring dessert.

The Masters & The Derby:
Spring is on our TV just about every Sunday during the golf season.  It's not my favorite but I usually watch along too, have my favorite players and if I'm going to be forced to watch - might as well embrace it!  The ideas for Masters parties on Pinterest are endless.  Similarly, I've always wanted to get a little appetizer spread together for the Kentucky Derby too - in past years I feel like we've always been on the go that weekend but hopefully this year.

Spring Football:
Penn State's spring game is next month and after that we'll be just five months away from the season. Last year was exciting for us and this year is supposed to be even better.  The NFL Draft is also being held in Philadelphia this year so it should be exciting around here.

Drain the Bar:
We'll be moving in just a few months and we've had so many great parties and hosting opportunities here literally from the day we moved in so we want one more good opportunity to have people over and "drain the bar" - guess we'll have a "stock the bar" party after moving in, ha!

Spring Vacation:
We've got a family trip coming up soon and we're supposed to go away later this spring but are considering moving that until the summer - either way we'll have some travel planning going on.

Have a good week! xx
