Friday morning is my new favorite time of the week, I think. All the weekend excitement ahead, I enjoy the anticipation. This weekend we unfortunately have to skip out on making the trip up to State College because of a variety of activities locally including a wedding, friends and more. We'll most definitely be watching carefully on TV though - Go Nittany Lions! One of our best friends popped into town last night and we did a night out of Mexican and then the Thursday night shows (three of my favorite things - friends, Mexican and TGIT) so I'll get right to it today...
Feature:
As long as you're not new around here then you know how passionate I am about Penn State football as well as planning our tailgates. I like to add on any little festive touch that I can because it makes things more enjoyable! One of my new favorites this season are game day toothpicks. You can use them with anything - appetizers, desserts, sliders - you name it. They are also so simple to make and can be made quite quickly...
+ Decide what image you'd like on your toothpick and print out a bunch of them (squares are easiest because you can cut them on the paper cutter in no time)
+ Cut them out
+ Grab your toothpicks and double sided tape then tape one cutout to the toothpick with the tape covering the toothpick and then place a second image on top. This way they are double sided and look great from any angle
+ Press them into whatever food item you like
+ Enjoy and admire!
Other Happenings:
+ Gigi New York is has their annual family & friends sale going on now until next Tuesday 10/13 (use code: wearefamily). I've already tipped offmy mom Santa with what I'd like for Christmas - it's a great time for buying gifts. A sale plus getting it done early, yes please!
+ Gigi New York is has their annual family & friends sale going on now until next Tuesday 10/13 (use code: wearefamily). I've already tipped off
+ Sunday marks two years since the day Derek asked me to marry him - I can't believe it's already been years. Multiple. We'll hopefully be doing a special dinner in a week or to celebrate the little milestone.
+ The other night I was ready a half hour before leaving for dinner - that never happens. For anything. I'm always rushing at the last minute. I think I'd like to have it happen more often.
+ I ordered this scarf last week and cannot wait to wear it. It ties in the best fall colors and will go with everything.
Cheers to the weekend!
