Kiawah

A couple weeks ago we enjoyed great time in Charleston and then finished our trip in Kiawah which we liked even better than before - we decided that next year we'll just stay in Kiawah and do a day trip over to Charleston for shopping and dinner.  The weather was wonderful in May - high 70's during the day and cooler at night.

Tuesday morning we lounged around our suite then packed up and left for the nice drive out to Kiawah - we stopped at the shopping strip on the way in for a little bit of shopping at The Island Shop, Southern Tide and Vineyard Vines then did lunch at King Street Grille.

We stayed at The  Sanctuary and it was great to be back there - such a peaceful setting.  Our rooms weren't quite ready when we got there so Derek, Tatum and I set off for the beach and everyone else did the pool bar to start the afternoon.  I had a few minutes alone in the sun with a glass of rose - it was wonderful!

We all met up at the pool for a while to finish the day and watch Tatum cruise around in his float - he had the pool to himself and was loving it.

After getting settled in our rooms and getting ready we took the shuttle out for dinner around 6:15 - we wanted to have time to have drinks, watch the sunset then go in for dinner.

We went to the Ryder Cup Bar - a place we'd been looking forward to going back to the entire trip. It's the best setting, the best sunset and great drinks/food. We grabbed some chairs and settled in - we spent an hour watching people finish on the 18th hole, letting Tatum play and enjoying the setting.

It was such a great setting, we couldn't stop taking pictures and taking advantage of the background. Tatum loved that we let him loose on the green and crawling all over.

We got a nice table on the patio and went back out to the course for a few minutes to watch the sunset. Another delicious dinner was enjoyed and when we got back to the hotel my mom kindly put Tatum to bed so Derek and I could go down to the bar for one more drink.
