Think Spring

We might be preparing for our biggest snow of the year so far around here - coming tomorrow - but daylight savings hit over the weekend, spring is days away and warm weather is on my mind.  It's hard to type this post while it's 20 degrees outside but hopefully this is our farewell to winter.

I love the cool mornings and warm afternoons, windows open, nights on the deck and all that is almost here.  Even though we lost the hour of sleep over the weekend, I do love the start of when it stays lighter out longer.  Derek was away this weekend and it was a little early but I went ahead and got our closets switched over for spring since hopefully that's coming soon.

A couple other little events that I'm looking forward to this season...

Easter Eve:
I love the spring holiday weekend - Derek usually gets home early on Good Friday, we go to church and a delicious brunch on Easter Sunday and my mom still has Easter baskets ready for us! (Of course we make a basket for Stella too).  Since we've been married we started hosting an Easter Eve dinner to make more out of the weekend and it's such fun to do - the same menu always - cheese plates and such for appetizers, spiraled ham and all the sides, some sort of spring dessert.

The Masters & The Derby:
Spring is on our TV just about every Sunday during the golf season.  It's not my favorite but I usually watch along too, have my favorite players and if I'm going to be forced to watch - might as well embrace it!  The ideas for Masters parties on Pinterest are endless.  Similarly, I've always wanted to get a little appetizer spread together for the Kentucky Derby too - in past years I feel like we've always been on the go that weekend but hopefully this year.

Spring Football:
Penn State's spring game is next month and after that we'll be just five months away from the season. Last year was exciting for us and this year is supposed to be even better.  The NFL Draft is also being held in Philadelphia this year so it should be exciting around here.

Drain the Bar:
We'll be moving in just a few months and we've had so many great parties and hosting opportunities here literally from the day we moved in so we want one more good opportunity to have people over and "drain the bar" - guess we'll have a "stock the bar" party after moving in, ha!

Spring Vacation:
We've got a family trip coming up soon and we're supposed to go away later this spring but are considering moving that until the summer - either way we'll have some travel planning going on.

Have a good week! xx
